What the job is …
We are looking for an experienced candidate in warehouse logistics, who is passionate about leading and developing people while at the same time being fully responsible for all warehouse operations. Shipping and transport management as well as ensuring the customs process will also be part of the job. In this position you will have the chance to challenge and improve the existing and shape new processes in order to fulfill the growing business needs in the aviation sector. You directly influence our customers' satisfaction by providing aviation spares at a high variety of services and performance levels at the right time and place. Copenhagen is our spares distribution HUB in Europe and it is own-operated. About 50 employees work in the warehouse which has a size of 6.500 sqm. Due to further growth a new state-of-the-art site (25.000 sqm) will be launched in 2024/2025. You will report directly to the Head of Logistics Operations Europe, based in Hamburg/Germany. The position will be located in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Your main responsibilities
Lead all warehouse operations with your team whilst applying HS&E policies at all times.
Continuously improve operations exceeding customers expectations by using lean methodologies.
Ensure key targets with regards to operational on-time and on-quality performance.
Develop and train an engaged and skilled workforce in order to cope with all functional, technical and market requirements and foster personal development of the team.
Promote and support internal/external audits and all other operational reviews to ensure warehouse process compliance and adherence with laws, regulatory and aviation specific regulations.
How you will contribute to the team
For this position completed studies in supply chain management, logistics or material management is required as well as at least 3 years of experience in a leadership function in warehouse operations or distributions. You must be familiar with the process flow within a warehouse, including inbound, outbound and shipping, but also materials and inventory management. Ensuring the end-to-end process requires deep knowledge of shipping, transport management and customs regulations. Being able to build and motivate highly committed teams combined with strong communication skills and stakeholder management is essential. This also requires an excellent command of both written and spoken English, as you will be part of international and multicultural teams. We value passion, self-organization and hands-on mentality. Experience in Google Workspace applications and SAP as well as project management is an advantage.
