In order to support the Supply Chain and Qualtiy Operations department, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a

Head (d/f/m) of Supplier Development

The Job-holder leads Supplier Development transnational team across all commodities in AirPower to improve and develop Supplier Performance by providing expertise using continuous improvement tools and methods in order to reach the appropriate maturity level to deliver OQOTOC performance, developing appropriate quality mindset and continuous improvement.

The mission of Supplier Development is to develop supplier capabilities and capacities reaching the expected level of agility, efficiency and operational performance of the Supply Chain while leading supplier development projects that span over the entire SCQ organisation.

This role is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks.

Your detailed activities of this challenging and highly exposed position:

  • Leading recovery performance missions in critical suppliers.

  • Identifying and developing the supplier weaknesses, capabilities, capacities, improvement and development plans to increase supply chain maturity and robustness.
  • Identifying risk and oportunities in new developments and industrializations as well as associated action plans.
  • Securing adherence to audit and assessment plan in close coordination with SCQ teams (AeroExcellence , CCP/CMA, JIP, ...) and rate readiness.
  • Managing complex ToW ( Transfer of Work), APQP projects and Supplier Transformation projects.
  • Delivering improved performance through effective change leadership at all levels of a supplier organisation.
  • Defining SQIP (Supplier Quality Improvement Program) / JIP Business Improvement plans to achieve long-term performance targets.
  • Defining with non-SQIP suppliers through all tiers of the supply chain specific development activities and problem resolution activities where identified issue or risk have been flagged via supplier mapping or other sources.
  • Providing the vision and communicating a roadmap for the Airbus supply chain through facilitation, coaching and OJT for internal procurement operations resource.
  • Supporting procurement commodities in defining their supply chain strategies with regards to suppliers development.
  • Developing quality mindset and continuous improvement and contributing to anticipate recurring supplier quality issues and initiate preventive KPIs.
  • Driving the implementation of supply chain continuous improvement methodologies and tools at supplier's site, bringing expertise to resolve issues & develop best practices.
  • Representing AD Procurement in strategic and industry-wide projects across divisions with regards to Supplier Development.
  • Supporting team upskilling in terms of continuous improvements methods and tools.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Experience in transnational team management.
  • Leadership in dealing with stakeholders/functions and strong communication skills.
  • Background in Material/Supplier Management.
  • Experience in Performance Management.
  • Lead in Industrial Transformation projects.
  • Deployment of Continuous Improvement tools and innovation.
  • Knowledge of Workload & Capacity Management, Ramp-up Readiness and Recovery Plans.
  • High availability to travel on a regular basis.
