Job Description
Job Description:
An opportunity for a Supply Chain and Quality Manager (SCQM) has arisen within the Procurement Operations organization (PI).
This position can be based in Getafe (Madrid), Toulouse (France), or Hamburg (Germany), subject to discussion.
The selected candidate will join the Structural Composites team (PIMCC), which is responsible for the operational management of Airbus’ composite materials supply chain. Our mission is to secure the "On Time, On Quality" (OTOQ) delivery of flyable and ancillary materials for the entire product lifecycle-from supplier selection and product qualification to series production and strategic development.
The PIMCC team is a highly dynamic, international, and multicultural group. You will work in a challenging environment where team spirit is key, managing a supply base of around 250 manufacturing sites and collaborating with Multi-Functional Teams (MFT) to shape the future of Airbus' composite supply chain.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage Supply Chain Operations: Ensure OTOQ performance for "interior prepregs" and textile/infusion materials, acting as the main interface between suppliers and internal plants (Illescas, Nantes, Stade).
- Drive Quality Excellence: Lead the supplier quality approval process, manage New Product Introductions (NPI), and oversee quality recovery plans using tools like 8D.
- Lead Industrial Assessments: Perform comprehensive product audits across the composites supply base to detect process deviations, propose solutions, and validate supplier action plans.
- Risk Mitigation & Recovery: Identify supply risks in coordination with the Commodity Sourcing Group (CSG) and implement robust recovery plans to secure continuity of supply during bottlenecks or disruptions.
- Support Strategic Initiatives: Contribute to supplier selection during calls for tender, manage Transfers of Work (ToW), and lead logistics improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
- Supplier Development: Monitor and support the long-term development of suppliers in line with Airbus’ sourcing strategy, ensuring they have the required capacity and industrial maturity.
SKILLS
Is your profile aligned to the following list of skills? Apply! We are looking forward to knowing you:
- Education: Engineering degree or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: At least 4 years of experience, ideally in Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, or Logistics. An industrial background (Manufacturing Engineering) is a strong plus.
- Soft skills: High autonomy, negotiation skills with the ability to influence, and a constructive approach to conflict management in a stakeholder-heavy environment.
- Languages: Negotiation level in English. Knowledge of German is a definitive advantage due to the supplier base in Germany and Austria.
- Technical knowledge: Ability to perform industrial audits, risk assessment, and data analysis to manage diverse supply scenarios.
- Valuable / Nice to have: Experience in the composites field is highly appreciated. Willingness to travel frequently within Europe (approx. 5 days per month).
