Design Engineer (Electrical & Avionics) is responsible for delivering certifiable system designs across the project lifecycle, from initial concept, research, and CAD to aircraft modification and return to service. By developing technical proposals, executing engineering changes, managing regulatory compliance evidence, and collaborating with internal and external partners, this role ensures electrical and avionic integration solutions interface with structural and mechanical domains to meet regulatory standards and agreed project milestones.
- Coordinate with customers, internal departments, and external partners (suppliers, OEMs) to gather and define initial design requirements.
- Develop technical proposals in response to customer requirements by conducting autonomous research and engineering studies to identify, evaluate, and define solutions for electrical and avionic system integrations.
- Develop detailed design (engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical documentation) for aircraft modifications, repairs, and upgrades.
- Ensure all designs and deliverables meet established performance, safety, manufacturability, and company engineering standards, resulting in minimal rework.
- Execute Means of Compliance in accordance with the certification plan to demonstrate adherence to applicable certification requirements (e.g., CS-27, CS-29).
- Coordinate with internal departments (stress, testing, configuration) and external partners (suppliers, OEMs, approved labs) to optimise design, conduct expert evaluations, and verify compliance data.
- Produce justification reports, design analyses, and test documentation to support regulatory compliance and internal quality audits.
- Maintain traceability of compliance evidence within the Design Assurance System.
- On-Time Delivery (OTD): Deliver assigned design and compliance outputs in accordance with agreed project milestones.
- Support production and maintenance teams with design-related queries.
- Other duties reasonably determined from time to time by the Company.
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic (E&E), Aerospace (Avionics), System, Mechatronics, Telecommunications (RF) Engineering or related engineering field. *
* BEM Accredited Engineering Programme, excluding Engineering Technology Programme.
Minimum Experience: 3-5 Years in system integration design and/or vehicle system integratio.
