Job Summary

The jobholder oversees all accounting and tax functions, focusing on the Commercial entity in Japan. As the guarantor of financial compliance for production and engineering facilities, they ensure rigorous cost accounting. This strategic role involves direct reporting in Japanese to the Head of Accounting Group in Japan as well as to the headquarters in Europe.

Main Responsibilities

The job holder is mainly involved in the following duties (but not limited):

1. Accounting Leadership & Reporting

  • Closing Supervision: Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements (P&L, BS, and Cash Flow) in accordance with JGAAP and IFRS standards.
  • Group Reporting: Validate the monthly reporting package for headquarters, including a critical analysis of gaps between Budget (OP), Forecast (FCST), and previous periods per function
  • Treasury Management: Oversee the settlement of inter-company (I/C) transactions and fund arrangements within the group.
  • Manage invoicing based on Intercompany Services Level agreement and cash collection
  • Follow update of Services Level agreement with other group entities
  • Manage, Improve and Accelerate claim expenses process payment

2. Audit, Internal Control & Governance

  • Audit Management: Act as the primary interface for all internal and external audits.
  • Internal Control: maintain and monitor an adequate level of internal control at all times and update accounting policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Stakeholder Management: Interface with headquarters on complex finance and control inquiries.

3. Stakeholder management

  • Interface with headquarter on all questions related to all finance, internal control and enterprise risk management
  • Assist external & internal audit coordinating with other Finance team members and other departments
  • Business partnering for other departments
  • Manage finance team member in charge of preparing invoicing and claims expenses payment
  • Assist and prepare financial information to Executive Committee members and Governance Committee

4. IT Transformation Projects

  • Automatize reporting to Group from S4 HANA
  • Actively participate of the implementation of the new IT software of Expenses Claim

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Finance & accounting background at least 8 years
  • Understanding of Japanese accounting standard and preferably IFRS Inter-personal skill
  • Native Japanese and business level English
  • Ability to work fairly autonomously and call for ad hoc support from management in case of difficulties
  • CPA, tax certificate, or accounting firm background is huge plus
  • Experience of multi-national company is plus
