About the role
The Senior Software Engineer in our team will be a technical specialist who is able to build, contribute and develop great software for the SR4C product. This position will work alongside a tech lead and the wider Product team locally and remotely to shape the development of the ScriptRunner for Confluence DC product. This role will be managing the balance of your individual contributions and supporting your team in delivery. As a senior engineer on the team, the role will be responsible for facilitating solution design, building on the knowledge and skills in the team as well as reaching out to other engineering teams for input.
What you'll be doing
- Providing a platform for developers to perform tasks of varying complexity- Assisting with priority setting for products- Delivering updates to key stakeholders- Providing a platform for developers to perform tasks of varying complexity- Advocating for the team by promoting the right tools, technology, and freedom to deliver their work and innovate- Mentoring, coaching, and developing a team of Software Engineers of varying levels of experience- Facilitating and enabling collaboration- Designing, writing, and testing solutions- Complex, collaborative problem solving- Performing code peer reviews- Writing automated tests at unit, integration, and functional levels and managing code quality within the team- Troubleshooting builds and deploymentsHandling and owning support escalations
What we're looking for
Essential- Strong software development skills in either Java/Groovy technologies- Pragmatic approach to testing new and legacy code- Identifies opportunities to improve code through refactoring- Uses PR process to improve own code and design as well as for others in your team- An attitude of continual learning- Experience of Agile Methodologies
Desirable- Experience with mentoring and coaching more junior engineers - Frontend technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript/React)- Experience working across the full development stack- Knowledge of implementing and running CI / CD- Atlassian Ecosystem experience- Leading of agile ceremonies
