Key Responsibilities
Client Service & Execution: Coordinate and ensure client service delivery, focusing on compliance with local customs regulations through personal execution or team delegation.
Import & Export Declarations: Ensure timely and accurate completion of Import & Export declarations, Customs clearance, and other trade compliance concerns, including E-TRACC.
Financial Oversight: Manage financial activities related to customs house brokerage (CHB).
Customer Satisfaction: Exceed customer needs while adhering to compliance controls.
Workload Management: Monitor workload, identify risks, and report to the Head of Customs.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze and present data reports to various stakeholders.
Operational Manual Review: Review and update operating manuals regularly.
Compliance & Quality Assurance: Maintain compliance with standards and quality assurance procedures, meeting HMRC/statutory requirements.
Process Improvement: Drive productivity through process improvements.
Audit Support: Support audits and maintain strong customer relationships.
Customs Product Development: Develop customs products and participate in growth initiatives.
Team Management: Coordinate recruitment and manage team performance.
Customer & Vendor Onboarding: Facilitate onboarding and introduce customers and vendors to products and systems.
Customer Experience: Ensure strict adherence to processes for executing CX (customer experience) products.
Issue Resolution: Proactively address and resolve customer and vendor support needs.
Cost Optimization: Optimize cost-to-serve while ensuring timely delivery of the CHB product.
Consultation: Provide expert advice on customs and regulatory policies impacting customers, vendors, and the organization.
Process Development: Contribute to creating new processes and refining existing ones.
Product Development: Shape the business and product development agenda for regional and area products.
Market Intelligence: Develop value propositions, gather customer insights, and stay informed about market trends.
Systems Improvement: Drive systems improvement and automation efforts.
Who We Are Looking For
License Customs Broker: Must be knowledgeable about customs systems and updated local customs rulings.
Experience: 7-10 years of relevant work experience, including experience as a people manager.
Education: Relevant educational background is a plus.
Language Proficiency: Proficient in English (written and verbal).
Skills: Excellent stakeholder management, strong people management, and analytical thinking.
Government Connection: Connections with government agencies are a plus.
