About us

The Cool Farm Alliance is a science-led, not-for-profit membership organisation (community interest company) that owns, manages, and improves the Cool Farm Tool and cultivates the leadership network to advance regenerative agriculture at scale.

The Cool Farm Tool is an on-farm greenhouse gas calculator now used by most of the world’s largest food and beverage companies to reveal changes that farmers can make to reduce emissions and sequester carbon with co-benefits for soil quality, water, biodiversity, and farm economics.

The purpose of the Cool Farm Alliance is to put knowledge in the hands of farmers and empower the full supply chain to support agro-ecological restoration by providing a respected, standardised calculation engine to measure and report on agriculture’s impact on the environment. The Cool Farm Tool has established widely endorsed, science-based metrics for water, climate, and biodiversity.

Approach to diversity & inclusion

Cool Farm is deeply committed to cultivating a culture of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI). We firmly believe that embracing diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences enriches our workplace, fostering an environment that stimulates innovation. Our dedication to diversity is not only a commitment but also a recognition that every team member's unique contribution is essential to our collective success.

In our pursuit of fostering an inclusive workplace, Cool Farm acknowledges that we are on an ongoing journey. In 2023, we took a significant step by seeking consultation support to develop a comprehensive strategy for identifying and seamlessly integrating EDI responses into our business operations.

Our objective is to amplify our EDI efforts, aiming for several key outcomes:

• Strengthening our support for the realisation of our organisational vision.

• Creating a more enriching and secure environment within our secretariat.

• Leveraging our position and privilege within the Cool Farm Alliance (CFA) to actively contribute to positive outcomes for farmers globally.

To achieve these goals, we are excited to announce our strategic partnership with Honey Badger, a leading provider of culture design solutions. Honey Badger specialises in empowering organisations to embrace fearless change and foster sustainable growth. Stay tuned for further updates as we embark on this transformative journey with Honey Badger to enhance our commitment to diversity and inclusion at Cool Farm.

☕️ Weekly Coffee Roulette is Here! ☕️

As a fully remote team, we're always looking for new ways to strengthen our connections and create meaningful moments together.

We've just introduced a fun new initiative for the Cool Farm Team—a Weekly Coffee Roulette! It's a chance to connect and chat without talking about work. Each week, people are randomly paired to get to know each other better, beyond departments, hierarchies, or project touchpoints.

This wonderful idea was first raised at our team retreat, and a huge shoutout goes to Nina ... for taking the lead to make it happen!

A few weeks ago, the majority Cool Farm team came together in person—something we don't get to do often! Over two days, we talked about our values, why we do what we do, and made exciting plans for 2025. With the team now at 17 people, it was a perfect chance to align on how we work together. We also had some fun with a fantastic dinner and karaoke! As a fully remote team, these face-to-face moments are crucial for connecting beyond screens and to-do lists.

One of my biggest observations from our recent team meetup is how much we've ...

Cool Farm's employees have anonymously had their say in what they think of the company

Working at Cool Farm is dynamic and collaborative, with a strong focus on science-driven metrics to help inform decisions and account for tracking change over time. The team is small but skilled, balancing technical development and stakeholder engagement. There’s a mix of independent work and cross-functional collaboration, particularly between modellers, developers, and project managers. The work can be fast-paced, especially with evolving methodologies and platform improvements, changing standards and a fast moving industry, but it’s also purpose-driven, aiming to improve agricultural sustainability through data and modelling.

There is a huge amount of freedom here at Cool Farm, there is a personal development budget allocation for you to choose your own development path. Choose your own working pattern and times, and a very supportive caring team to help you thrive. Being fully remote, there is an expectation of personal responsibility and self leadership.

What I love most about working at Cool Farm is that even when work gets a bit busier, I always know I'm working towards something that's closely aligned with my personal values. I also love the flexibility to balance my work and private life in a way that works best for me, my daily productivity rhythm and my family. Lastly, it's the best, most caring, talented and collaborative team I've ever worked for.
