Celebrating Armed Forces Day with the SSAFA Big Brew Up

We’re proud to recognise and celebrate Armed Forces Day each year, and one of our key events is the SSAFA Big Brew Up. Organised by our internal network, the Big Brew Up is a meaningful opportunity for colleagues to come together in solidarity and appreciation. 

Through the Big Brew Up, we:

• Raise funds and awareness for SSAFA –  Mott MacDonald’s chosen Armed Forces charity
• Celebrate the stories and experiences of veterans, reservists and service families within our workforce. 
• Build connection across offices and regions through a shared commitment to support and recognition.

The Armed Forces pathway

One of the key ways we deliver on this commitment is through our Armed Forces Pathway. This bespoke initiative provides ring-fenced roles designed to support individuals transitioning from military to civilian careers. These roles are created to recognise and value the transferable skills gained in service – such as leadership, adaptability, and complex problem solving. 

We ensure:

• Targeted opportunities across a range of roles and disciplines. 
• Supportive onboarding and mentoring tailored for those from military backgrounds. 
• Development pathways and professional development opportunities. 
• Flexibility and understanding for individuals balancing other responsibilities and commitments.
