Job Description

We're looking for an experienced NHS Business Development Lead to help us grow our work across the NHS, building on our existing client relationships and developing new opportunities.

You'll work closely with our Head of Public Sector, Healthcare team and wider business to understand the challenges NHS organisations face and where Zoonou's services can help.

You won't be starting from scratch. We already work with NHS organisations, have an established portfolio of services and a marketing team supporting our growth through targeted campaigns, events and exhibitions.

We're looking for someone who knows how the NHS works, enjoys building relationships and has the commercial experience to turn opportunities into long-term partnerships.

What you'll do as our NHS Business Development & Partnerships Manager

You'll take ownership of business development across the NHS, from finding new opportunities and winning work to growing relationships with existing clients.

On a typical day, you might:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across NHS Trusts, Integrated Care Boards and other NHS organisations.

  • Build relationships with people working in digital, technology, transformation and procurement.

  • Meet with existing clients to understand their priorities, upcoming projects and where else we could support them.

  • Manage opportunities from initial conversations through to proposals, negotiations and securing contracts.

  • Identify relevant NHS tenders and procurement opportunities, working with colleagues to prepare competitive bids.

  • Work with our marketing team on NHS-focused campaigns, events and exhibitions, following up with contacts and turning interest into opportunities.

  • Represent Zoonou at industry events, building connections and raising our profile across the sector.

  • Work with our delivery teams to make sure we're meeting client expectations and identifying opportunities to develop our relationships.

  • Manage your sales pipeline, forecasts and activity in HubSpot, working towards agreed revenue targets.

The experience you'll bring

You'll already have experience selling into the NHS and understand how organisations make decisions, buy services and work with external suppliers. You'll be confident developing new business, managing existing accounts and building relationships with senior stakeholders.

Here's what we think would set you up well for the role:

  • Proven experience in sales or business development, with a track record of winning work across the NHS.

  • A good understanding of NHS structures, digital priorities and procurement processes.

  • Experience selling technology, digital solutions or professional services.

  • Experience managing the full sales cycle, from identifying opportunities to securing contracts.Confidence building relationships with senior stakeholders and understanding their challenges.

  • Experience identifying tender opportunities and contributing to bids and proposals.

  • A commercial mindset, with experience managing a sales pipeline and delivering against targets.

  • Existing relationships across NHS digital and transformation teams would be particularly valuable.

  • Experience selling software testing, accessibility, performance testing or cybersecurity services would also be useful, but isn't essential. We're more interested in your knowledge of the NHS and your ability to develop business.

And the way you work

We're looking for someone who enjoys meeting people, understands the value of long-term relationships and is comfortable taking ownership of their work.

You'll be someone who:

  • Is proactive and enjoys finding and developing new opportunities.

  • Takes the time to understand clients and what they're trying to achieve.

  • Is confident having commercial conversations without being overly sales-driven.

  • Works well with colleagues, bringing the right people together to develop opportunities.

  • Is organised, self-motivated and comfortable managing your own priorities.

  • Enjoys getting out to meet clients, attending events and building a network across the sector.

  • Cares about doing good work and the difference it makes for our clients.

Your working hours and location

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:30

  • Location: Remote, office-based or hybrid - whatever works best for you. You'll need to be able to travel across the UK to client meetings and events
