Who we wre

We’re here to build a network the UK can count on - one that connects people, places and potential. At VodafoneThree we’re not just expanding connectivity, we’re reimagining what a connected nation looks like. With £11bn invested in 5G and digital infrastructure, your work will directly power businesses, services and communities across the country.

We’re creating more than the UK’s best network. We’re helping close the digital divide, empower communities and drive meaningful progress - today.

Welcome to a place where you’re connected

At VodafoneThree, you won’t just start an apprenticeship, you’ll start shaping a future. From your very first day, you’ll be welcomed into a community that knows the value you bring, supported by experienced mentors who guide, encourage and challenge you. You’ll work on meaningful projects that help build the UK best network, all while developing your confidence, capability and skills.

Whatever path you’re stepping from - sixth form, college or a career change - this is where you take your next step with purpose. Here, you’ll find an environment built on collaboration, shared experience and teams who always have your back. This is a place where people know you, where your contribution matters and where you become part of something bigger.

What you’ll do

You’ll join our Managed Engineering Services (MES) team which sits at the heart of VodafoneThree’s technical excellence, delivering hands‑on engineering expertise, proactive network management, and end‑to‑end service assurance for some of our most strategic enterprise customers.

As a Networking Engineering apprentice, you’ll support VodafoneThree’s delivery of cutting‑edge telecoms infrastructure across the SPEN (Scottish Power Energy Networks) estate.

You will:

  • Install, maintain, and fix vital telecoms systems that keep SPEN’s substations and networks running safely and reliably.
  • Handle fibre, copper, RF and IP-based communication systems confidently.
  • Support planned works, manage reactive faults, and respond to emergencies.
  • Complete configuration, testing, and documentation to a high standard.
  • Work as one team with site leads, our Network Operations Centre, Project Managers, and contractors.
  • Lead with safety, permits and electrical procedures followed every time.
  • Take pride in your kit, ensuring tools, test gear, and your vehicle are always inspection‑ready.

Alongside your day-to-day role, you'll study toward a SCQF Level 8 Network Engineering apprenticeship, delivered by one of our trusted training partners.

Who you are

  • You put safety first, always making smart choices and keeping yourself and your colleagues safe.
  • You enjoy figuring things out, whether that’s solving problems or learning new technical skills.
  • As this is a field‑based work, you’ll need a clean driving license, be comfortable travelling as needed with a flexible approach to working hours.
  • Will ideally hold SCQF Level 6 qualification(s) such as Highers or equivalent by September 2026.
  • Must meet UK Government apprenticeship levy funding eligibility requirements.

Worried that you don’t meet all the desired criteria exactly?

We know that everyone is unique, with multiple aspects to their identity and different experiences behind them. We are passionate about Inclusion for All and creating a workplace where everyone can thrive, whatever their personal or professional background. *Field based

As a field‑based member of our team, you’ll be out where the action happens. You’ll travel across your region, adapt to different environments, solve problems on the ground and help keep our customers connected. You’ll bring flexibility, a willingness to travel, and the confidence to work independently in dynamic, real‑world settings. This role involves being on-site at least four days a week, with occasional out‑of‑hours work. It also requires travel to customer sites all of which are in Scotland and occasional travel to our Glasow Office, and Centre of Excellence in Airdrie for team meetings.

What we offer

We care about our people’s success by offering great pay, bonuses, up to 28 days off plus bank holidays, and paid time for charity work.
