Job Description

Location: Newbury + Hybrid
Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits
Working hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday
Duration: Permanent

Hybrid

We believe that through collaboration and connection with our colleagues we can achieve great things. Our hybrid working approach allows our people to work both in the office and at home, providing the flexibility and resources you need to succeed in your role. We don't require you to be in on specific days; instead, we ask people to come into the office 2-3 days each week, for at least 8 days per month. You should work with your line manager to understand what their expectations are for you, your specific role and your team.

Who We Are

We’re here to build a network the UK can count on – one that connects people, places and potential. Because no matter where you live, what your background is, or how you get online – we think everyone deserves the same chance to stay connected, and with VodafoneThree, that future’s being built – today.

We’re creating more than the UK’s best network. We’re helping close the digital divide, empower communities and drive meaningful progress.

We believe that everyone should feel they belong. Whoever you are and whatever your story, there’s space for you here. We’re building a workplace where different perspectives are welcomed, voices are heard, and everyone feels safe to show up as themselves.

You’ll join a team that genuinely cares – about each other, about our customers, and about the future we’re building. From day one, you’ll be welcomed, valued and encouraged to bring your whole self to work.

Why VodafoneThree

Join us and you’ll be at the heart of change. That means building responsibly, investing sustainably and creating opportunities that last.

We’re not just expanding connectivity; we’re reimagining what a connected nation looks like. With £11bn invested in 5G and digital infrastructure, your work will directly power businesses, services, and communities across the country.

You’ll work on real challenges, with real impact, across every corner of the country. Wherever you join us, whatever your role, you’ll be helping to build a future that works better for everyone.

We move at pace, because what we’re building matters – and we’re learning as we go. We’re proud of the progress we’ve made, but we’re just getting started.

Join our UK Networks team, where we’re continually building and enhancing our network, connecting millions of people and businesses across the country. Be part of the team that makes it all happen – simplifying, automating, and bringing better connectivity than ever before, with giga-fast speed, to our customers.

What you’ll do

As Governance Manager, you will lead the governance framework supporting VodafoneThree's strategic supplier relationships and Joint Venture activities. You will oversee internal and contractual governance processes, ensuring robust controls, effective decision-making, compliance with contractual obligations, and adherence to Joint Venture confidentiality requirements.

Working with senior stakeholders across Networks, Commercial, Legal, Procurement and Operational teams, you will drive governance excellence, manage governance risks, provide assurance of compliance, and continually improve governance processes and controls.

A key aspect of the role is ownership of Joint Venture confidentiality governance, ensuring appropriate controls, onboarding processes, compliance monitoring and assurance activities are in place and operating effectively.

  • Lead and continuously improve governance frameworks, processes, controls and reporting that support VodafoneThree's contractual and Joint Venture obligations.
  • Provide governance oversight and assurance for key supplier, partner and Joint Venture agreements, ensuring contractual governance requirements are effectively implemented and maintained.
  • Own governance reporting and management information, providing senior stakeholders with clear insight into contractual compliance, governance performance, risks, issues and emerging trends.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of relevant contractual and governance frameworks, acting as a trusted advisor to operational stakeholders and supporting informed decision-making.
  • Drive accountability for contractual and governance compliance across Network Design, Build and Operations teams, ensuring obligations are understood, monitored and delivered.
  • Identify, manage and escalate governance, compliance and contractual risks, ensuring appropriate mitigation plans and management actions are implemented.
  • Lead governance forums with suppliers, partners and internal stakeholders, ensuring decisions, actions, risks and dependencies are effectively managed and progressed.
  • Own the continuous improvement of governance processes and controls, driving greater efficiency, transparency and effectiveness across the organisation.
  • Act as the governance lead for Joint Venture confidentiality compliance, maintaining and enhancing the controls, processes and guidance necessary to support compliance with information-sharing obligations.
  • Provide oversight of onboarding and offboarding governance processes for employees and contractors working within or alongside the Joint Venture environment, ensuring appropriate approvals, training and access controls are maintained.
  • Conduct periodic compliance and assurance reviews of individuals and teams operating across VodafoneThree, MBNL and other relevant environments to verify ongoing adherence to confidentiality and governance requirements.
  • Promote a culture of governance, compliance and accountability through stakeholder engagement, coaching, guidance and awareness activities.

Who You Are

  • Experience operating and managing governance frameworks within a commercial, supplier management or Joint Venture environment.
  • Strong understanding of contractual governance, compliance management and governance controls.
  • Experience identifying, managing and mitigating governance, operational or contractual risks.
  • Ability to influence and challenge stakeholders at all levels to drive compliance and accountability.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with experience translating complex data into meaningful management insight.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering process improvement and strengthening governance controls.
  • Understanding of confidentiality, information governance or compliance requirements within multi-party organisations would be advantageous.
