Job Description

Location: Newbury + Hybrid
Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits
Working hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday
Duration: 18 Month Fixed Term Contract

Hybrid

We believe that through collaboration and connection with our colleagues we can achieve great things. Our hybrid working approach allows our people to work both in the office and at home, providing the flexibility and resources you need to succeed in your role. We don't require you to be in on specific days; instead, we ask people to come into the office 2-3 days each week, for at least 8 days per month. You should work with your line manager to understand what their expectations are for you, your specific role and your team.

Who We Are

We’re here to build a network the UK can count on – one that connects people, places and potential. Because no matter where you live, what your background is, or how you get online – we think everyone deserves the same chance to stay connected, and with VodafoneThree, that future’s being built – today.

We’re creating more than the UK’s best network. We’re helping close the digital divide, empower communities and drive meaningful progress.

We believe that everyone should feel they belong. Whoever you are and whatever your story, there’s space for you here. We’re building a workplace where different perspectives are welcomed, voices are heard, and everyone feels safe to show up as themselves.

You’ll join a team that genuinely cares – about each other, about our customers, and about the future we’re building. From day one, you’ll be welcomed, valued and encouraged to bring your whole self to work.

Why VodafoneThree

Join us and you’ll be at the heart of change. That means building responsibly, investing sustainably and creating opportunities that last.

We’re not just expanding connectivity; we’re reimagining what a connected nation looks like. With £11bn invested in 5G and digital infrastructure, your work will directly power businesses, services, and communities across the country.

You’ll work on real challenges, with real impact, across every corner of the country. Wherever you join us, whatever your role, you’ll be helping to build a future that works better for everyone.

We move at pace, because what we’re building matters – and we’re learning as we go. We’re proud of the progress we’ve made, but we’re just getting started.

Join us at the heart of our business in Corporate, one of the central support functions that underpin our business and keep us moving forward. We provide centralised support, expertise and guidance across our UK and Group operations, continuing to build on our success and trailblazing the way to our next stage of digital growth.

What you'll do

You’ll be at the heart of a major finance transformation as we bring together our collective strengths to create the UK’s biggest mobile network provider. As Financial Control Integration Lead, you’ll provide Financial Control coordination, governance and oversight for the migration from Oracle to SAP. You’ll connect the bigger picture across finance and programme workstreams, making sure risks, dependencies and decisions are visible, the right people are involved at the right time, and Financial Control requirements are considered throughout design, testing, cutover and business readiness. Please note this is an 18 month contract.

You will:

  • Act as the central Financial Control coordination and oversight point for the Oracle-to-SAP migration, connecting impacts across accounting, reporting, controls, data, processes and systems.
  • Bring together Financial Control business owners and subject-matter experts, ensuring they’re engaged at the right stages and clear on the input, decisions and signoffs required.
  • Translate complex programme activity into clear Financial Control implications, helping senior stakeholders understand risks, priorities and decisions.
  • Maintain strong governance across Financial Control actions, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies and escalations, providing concise and decision-focused leadership updates.
  • Identify cross-workstream risks and gaps, using your judgement to challenge, escalate or bring in specialist expertise when needed.
  • Coordinate finance review across areas such as chart of accounts, financial reporting, period-end close, reconciliations, interfaces and data migration.
  • Work closely with SOX teams and relevant stakeholders to make sure financial control, auditability, segregation of duties and evidence-retention requirements are considered within solution design and implementation.
  • Coordinate Financial Control input into testing, defect prioritisation, data migration, cutover and go-live readiness, helping ensure material issues are visible and appropriately owned.
  • Build collaborative relationships across Financial Control, senior Finance stakeholders, Finance Transformation, technology teams, the ERP programme and external consultants.
  • Support a smooth transition into business as usual, helping establish clear ownership, documentation and post-go-live priorities.

Who you are

  • Showcase a strong background in Financial Control and financial reporting, with the credibility to represent finance requirements within a complex transformation programme.
  • Have a sound understanding of accounting processes, period-end close, balance sheet controls, reconciliations and the wider financial control environment.
  • Ability to interpret detailed programme, process and system information and translating it into practical finance implications, risks and decisions.
  • Demonstrable programme governance, coordination and risk-management experience, with a structured approach to managing actions, decisions, dependencies and escalations.
  • Ability to evaluate proposed solutions, spot gaps and provide thoughtful, constructive challenge while working collaboratively with programme specialists and external consultants.
  • Can confidently communicate with a broad range of stakeholders, from business owners and subject-matter experts to senior Finance leaders and transformation teams.
  • Able to make sound judgement to decide when additional expertise, challenge, follow-up or senior leadership attention is needed.
  • Be comfortable working across multiple workstreams, balancing detailed information while maintaining a clear view of wider business and Financial Control priorities.
  • Thrive in an evolving environment, bringing a curious, proactive and outcome-focused approach to ambiguity and change.
  • Ideally bring experience of ERP migration or Finance Transformation; previous SAP implementation experience will be beneficial but won’t be essential.
  • Preferably be a qualified accountant or bring equivalent senior-level finance experience.
