Role summary:

In integrating the division, the ESG Specialist reports directly to the Manager Sustainable Business. He has actively to participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of interventions, within Sustainable Business Division. Support several key areas across ESG, managing critical, cross-functional projects for the company.

He/She carries out day-to-day project related activities or support following Group’s pillars (Empowering people and Protecting the planet) as well as strategic objectives and is committed to the continuous improvement of the division projects and reporting, according to requirements of department and Groups.

The involvement includes, but not limited to the following existing programs and initiatives:
• Inclusion program (youth trainings, women inclusion, …)
• Climate Smart Agriculture (Agritech ‘’Moloni’’)
• Waste management program
• Energy management program
• Green infrastructure (Vodacom offices, shops, …)
• Renewal Energies program
• ESG Reporting (narratives and data collection)

The incumbent must be a team player, work effectively and efficiently with diverse internal and external constituencies, perform all duties with a high degree of professionalism and initiatives, communicate effectively, work well under pressure by respecting deadlines and be familiar with the rules, regulations, policies and procedures of Vodacom.

Key Accountabilities:

The Sustainable Business Assistant is directly accountable to the Manager Sustainable Business.
Essential duties & Key tasks:
Under direction of the Sustainable Business Manager:
- Implements assigned projects by managing and monitoring activities until hand over,
- Ensuring that compliance check list is 100% completed when implementing before launching any new projects or activities,
- Participates effectively to the preparation of reports at all levels. This includes energy data collection by liaising with internal stakeholders,
- Advises on any relevant changes in local environmental, energies and digital legislation and initiatives by liaising with external stakeholders,
- Supports efforts to maintain sustainability into the company culture and practices,
- Contributes to provides technical assistance to Projects implementation in close collaboration with colleagues within Division, involved Vodacom staff and engaged stakeholders to ensure alignment of VDC initiatives with the ESG and Sustainable Development Goals,
- Supports general outreach to build awareness of Division’s programs, helping to develop and share information about Division’s accomplishments, and assisting the Division to effectively market its services,
- Supports to identify community environmental education priorities to meet the needs. Including partnership opportunities in waste recycling,
- Contributes to design, implement, and evaluate programs/ projects that are effective and outcomes-oriented and support the Division’s mission and vision,
- Communicates on project progress as well as project impacts, when needed,
- Contributes to develop annual Plan-of-Work of the Division,
- Be available for traveling inside the country or outside of the country if needed,
- Performs other duties as assigned by the hierarchy including special assignments related to areas of responsibility as well as the needs of Vodacom Congo

- Availability to travel inside the country or outside of the country if needed and work out of working office hours when requested.
