About this Role

As a VAS Engineer, you will be responsible for designing software requirements, implementing, testing, and deploying software and hardware solutions within the Value Added Services (VAS) domain. This includes systems such as ADD, ADC, OTA, SIM Cards, and Location Services. You will support both Vodafone Romania and other European Vodafone markets, ensuring alignment with commercial needs and technological advancements. Your role will also involve monitoring VAS platforms throughout their lifecycle, producing technical reports, and managing capacity planning based on traffic and industry trends.

You are a detail-oriented individual with a strong foundation in computer science or telecommunications. You possess a deep understanding of software lifecycles and VAS technologies, and you are capable of translating commercial requirements into technical specifications. You are collaborative, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality solutions that meet evolving business needs.

What you will do

  • Draft software development requirement specifications tailored to client needs
  • Conduct capacity planning and system design
  • Customise and adapt software for integration with Vodafone networks and systems
  • Test software releases and oversee final acceptance and certification
  • Deploy customised software in live environments
  • Optimise performance by identifying and reporting software design issues
  • Troubleshoot incidents and define technical specifications for necessary changes
  • Define architecture, dimensioning, integration, testing, and acceptance for VAS systems

What skills you need

  • Proven experience with VAS-related information systems (ADD, ADC, OTA, SIM Cards, Location Services)
  • Strong grasp of software lifecycle stages: design, development, testing, implementation, optimisation, and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with technologies such as messaging, IP connectivity, SS7 signalling, and service layer protocols
  • University degree in computer science, telecommunications, or equivalent
  • Understanding of telecommunications technologies (Core Network, VAS) and ICT
  • Ability to interpret marketing needs and market evolution
  • Experience managing complex, cross-functional projects
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Englis
