Job Description

Role Purpose

Working closely with Network and BIT Departments, the Finance Business Partner Technology Manager will be the central Finance point of contact for all Financial matters. This role strives to deliver robust analysis and financial control for operating/capital costs and provides essential Finance expertise in the appraisal of new projects and the measurement of cost performance in project delivery.
The Finance Business Partner Technology Manager will also drive and support the implementation of the process improvements and reporting enhancements to deliver management information to the Management, which evolves with business needs and consistently exceeds expectations.
Excellent analytical skills, technical accounting ability and technology experience are central to the role, in addition to proven experience in relationship building and interacting at senior levels.

Role Requirement

1. Business Partner Decision Support

  • Ownership, production and delivering relevant and meaningful analyses against budget, reforecast and prior periods.
  • Develop new and existing reports for greater depth of analysis according to requirements.
  • Develop processes and systems to build understanding around the cost base, developing meaningful historic and forward-looking management information through the development of a cost model to capture the dynamics of the capital and operating cost bases, including linkages between both.
  • Revise an efficient operating cost accruals process to ensure that costs are correctly accrued and delivered within month-end close timetables.
  • Attend strategic meetings and contribute / add value to proceedings.
  • Work closely with Departments to deliver the required information to run their business;
  • Prepare projections to support technology investments and business initiatives; and
  • Support the Project Approval process for all projects.

2. Target Management and Control

  • Support the preparation of budgets, reforecasts and long-term plans for Departments in accordance with reporting timelines
  • Deliver business unit LRP and the Annual Budget/Forecast after identifying risks and opportunities and explain underlying assumptions and business models
  • Set and review/monitor and report senior management performance targets to deliver business success:
  • Target Return on Investment Capital achieved.
  • Identifying potential issues and carrying out analysis to validate;
  • Input to FP&A on planning.

3. Profit and Loss Analysis

  • Champion cost control and efficiency programs in Departments.
  • Be a touch point to Departments.
  • Participate in the Monthly closure process,
  • Ensure that all costs are reflected in the books,
  • Explain variances against budgets, forecasts,
  • Follow up of Opex and Capex on monthly and annual basis.

4. Management Reporting

  • Performance tracking of strategic Departments objectives;
  • Monitoring functional performance against targets.
  • Identifying potential issues and carrying out analysis to validate.
  • Supporting departments to identify, analyse, validate and implement remedy actions;


5. Budget and Forecasting

  • Responsible of 5+7 and 9+15 forecast inputs,
  • Review with the Management of the Group Targets and Assumptions
  • Establish with Departments outputs in accordance with Group Targets for the Budget
  • Direct point of contact to FPA for insights and forecast inputs

6. Business Intelligence

  • Provide insightful management information with strong focus on anticipating and managing monthly/quarterly results, and on management actions; and Strategic alignment.

Knowledge, skills and attributes

  • Strong analytical and technical accounting skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Build strong professional relationships.
  • Able to resolve conflicts successfully.
  • Excellent communicator and can deal effectively with non-finance people.
  • Self-starter with proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Tenacious and hard-working; and
  • Advanced Microsoft excel and financial systems skills.

Qualifications

• Accounting and Financial Degree or Equivalent

Experience

  • At least 03 years’ relevant industry experience, preferably gained in a fast-moving multinational environment (experience of supporting a large technology function would be an advantage);
  • Financial accounting, reporting/analysis, business support, financial planning and cost modelling expertise are all essential for the role.
  • Experience in cost efficiency programs is essential.
  • Experience of working with a range of business managers with differing or competing requirements and consistently exceeding their expectations; and Excellent presentation skills, particularly where communicating to a non-Finance audience.
