Role Profile

Tech centers planning & Design

  • Responsible for planning, designing, expanding, and preparing the technical areas within Vodafone's mobile and fixed domains to host all the necessary network equipment fulfilling the continuously growing traffic requirements.

Strategy

Traffic planning:

  • Responsible for how it steers traffic in which Datacenters, also they are responsible to define new datacenters strategy.
  • Following up with the Group technology on new trends like distributing traffic in many small datacenters (by getting rooms in Telecom Egypt – same concept as fixed).

New Datacenters/Edge Planning

  • Technology request new MTX in certain areas to acquire lands with property or Rollout (futuristic trend)
  • Put requirements and specs for new space

Technical Room Planning

  • Own the Technical room infrastructure to provide power/space for technology network expansions in both mobile and fixed domains.
  • Coordinate and establish technical requirements for new sites.
  • Design layout of technical rooms in new sites and its interfaces with other technical rooms.
  • Design paths and dimensions of cable trays within the technical rooms and their routes towards other technical rooms.
  • Interfaces with property team through the establishment and preparation phases (if equipment is AC)
  • Produce power capacity dashboard for power equipment.
  • Participate with property in problem solving and design update to overcome construction & power problems.
  • Assure availability of safety stock for racks and power equipment, covering any delayed deliveries that may cause delays in equipment implementation
  • Build ahead DC Power capacity with safety buffer as per the technology business plans.
  • Define overall AC and DC power requirements in new sites and optimizing needs with technology and inform Property with needed AC Power
  • Establish overall cooling requirements in new sites and optimize needs.

Role Profile Cont.

MTX Optimization& Modernization & Automation

  • Introduce innovative solutions that can help reduce VF-Egypt's energy consumption and contribute to the migration green environment.
  • Putting high standards for Installations to ensure efficient use of space and cooling.
  • Develop utilization reports for different electromechanical equipment in mobile and fixed locations.
  • Analysis and optimization of different electromechanical infrastructure equipment.
  • Automate the power capacity reports to be able to monitor, optimize and report the overall and detailed capacity aspects in VFE technology centers.
  • Managing the life cycle of Technology Equipment by removing old ones and propose modernization of old equipment to get more efficient power.
  • Modernize DC Power stations

Electromechanical Equipment roadmap management:

  • Plan and dimension the electromechanical equipment for fixed locations and MEC according to VF group strategy.
  • Handle the supplier releases and roadmaps for fixed and MECs.
  • Identify the different milestones for each product family.

Stakeholder Management

  • Handle technical conflicts with vendor.
  • Prepare progress reports for senior management.
  • Handle all technology teams requirements for network expansions.

Budget Planning

  • Manage required FY budget withing team goals & requirements.
  • Prepare and issue FY BCs and get BC approval up to CAB meetings.
  • Manage the technology centers budget assigned to property team to facilitate technology centers requirements.

Materials Capacity Planning

  • Manage stores materials releasing movements and delivery tools for any MTX to meet all requested installations.
  • Manage Inventory to ensure resources are available for planned requirements.
  • Issue monthly reports to monitor the current materials situation.
