Job Description

What you’ll do

The purpose of the Public Funding Tech Office Specialist role is to secure and manage public funding for the Vodafone center in Málaga. A Public Funding Tech Office was set up in the Vodafone Innovation Hub to identify, manage and prepare the submission of innovative project to the different funding calls address by the Public Funding Agencies. The role should also support or lead other public funding activities beyond the Málaga center as well as internal coordination with business units and central functions to plan, monitor and develop financial and innovation projects.


The main goal for this office is to maximize the return to Vodafone investment to ensure additional funding for strategic decisions. It´s imperative to ensure that we connect with the main stakeholders of those public agencies which lead the public funding.

A global public funding strategy has to be defined to elaborate an operational and feasible action plan working together with the Vodafone Business, Technology and Engineering teams.

The role will oversee both administrative, financial and technical elements of public funded project by local, regional and national Spanish authorities and the EU.

What you bring:

  • MSc level degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or Administration.
  • Experience in setting up and running public funded research projects, ideal on EU level and Spanish level.
  • Experience and connections with those Areas within the Spanish Central Government that runs main public funding calls and EU funding. Very valuable experience in complex funding structures.
  • Excellent English and Spanish writing skills and communications skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Previous experience and interest in the scope of public funding and/or in management of innovation processes.
  • Advanced level of English
