About this Role

We are seeking a Technical Product Owner who can effectively bridge business needs and technical delivery, ensuring high-quality, scalable solutions aligned with organisational objectives. This role will lead product roadmap delivery, drive technical planning, and collaborate closely with engineering teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions while maintaining a strong focus on customer value, product quality, and continuous improvement.

What you’ll do

  • Own and manage the product backlog, defining, prioritising, and communicating a clear product vision
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions through close collaboration with development teams
  • Lead sprint planning sessions, ensuring alignment between tasks and product goals
  • Drive product strategy, balancing technical debt, feature delivery, and customer needs
  • Communicate progress, risks, and technical challenges with stakeholders in a clear and structured manner

Technical Guidance & Planning:

  • Ensure technical designs follow best practices and meet customer requirements
  • Collaborate with technical teams on architecture decisions and tool selection
  • Promote a strong understanding of product technical needs across the team
  • Foster innovation and continuous improvement within the product and technical landscape

Coaching & Team Leadership:

  • Guide teams in aligning business priorities with technical delivery
  • Provide technical mentorship and support to enable effective execution
  • Encourage a collaborative, inclusive team environment

Quality Control:

  • Ensure high-quality deliverables through code reviews and adherence to development standards
  • Promote best practices such as unit and integration testing
  • Maintain focus on product maintainability and scalability

Reporting & Communication:

  • Provide regular product and delivery updates to stakeholders
  • Ensure alignment between business goals and product development
  • Escalate risks and challenges proactively

Commitment to Product Success:

  • Deliver features on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives
  • Adapt to evolving requirements and timelines to ensure successful outcomes

Who you are

  • An experienced technical professional with strong expertise in Object-Oriented Programming (Java, Spring Boot)
  • Proficient in design principles such as SOLID and common design patterns
  • Skilled in Microservices Architecture and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
  • Experienced with RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, and Spring ecosystem tools
  • Knowledgeable in CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiar with caching and performance tuning tools such as Redis and ElasticSearch
  • Exposure to big data technologies including Kafka and NoSQL databases
  • Experienced in testing frameworks including unit, integration, and BDD approaches

Product Ownership Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and sprint execution
  • Ability to translate business requirements into actionable technical tasks
  • Experience in backlog prioritisation and product lifecycle management
  • Capable of balancing feature delivery with technical debt

Experience & Education:

  • Demonstrated experience in technical roles, including software development
  • Prior experience in a product ownership or similar role is beneficial
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
