Role Purpose

The role is accountable for leading Vodafone’s cyber threat intelligence and threat hunting functions. Vodafone faces the most sophisiticated cyber threats and this role is accountable for understanding, assessing and driving action against these threats. The role holder will be responsible for building effective external relationships with Government agencies, other telecommunication companies, security companies, enterpriser customers and other threat units across the world.

What you’ll do

  • Be Vodafone’s cyber threat intelligence leader and subject matter expert. Shape the implementation of threat-led cyber security decision making and action.
  • Use accumulated experience, training and judgement to lead a team of cyber intelligence and threat hunt specialists. Specifically, you will:
    • Lead and evolve the strategy to drive the focus of the research conducted by the cyber threat hunting team, working across Vodafone.
      • Drive a team that focuses on partnerships and information sharing; provides direction to research and find threats, feeds information into the cyber defence lifecycle, produces and disseminates strategic and actional threat intelligence.
      • Coach and support junior and senior in the team in their career progression and in improving professional expertise in the area.
      • Understand nation state threats, geopolitics, criminal cyber threats and be able to prioritise efforts accordingly.
      • Think like an adversary to drive action– leverage tactical, technical and legal capabilities to mitigate threat.
      • Be an active member of the Global Cyber Security leadership community, providing insight, driving proactive mitigation and influencing security strategy.

Who you are

  • Full autonomy and accountability for leading the cyber threat intelligence team and managing performance against KPIs.
  • Ability to traverse strategic, operational and tactical insights with ease to define and leading the global implementation of Vodafone’s research, hunt and cyber threat intelligence operating models, frameworks, skillsets, processes and tools.
  • Leading relationships and engagement with intelligence sharing communities, peer organisations,
  • Leading the implementation of operational intelligence – monitoring high priority threat actors and providing guidance concerning threat hunting and detection control improvement priorities.
  • Leading the production of strategic cyber threat intelligence assessments to help shape Vodafone’s technology and cyber defence strategies.
