Role Purpose/Business Unit:

The SAP Solution Architect is responsible for designing and architecting end-to-end SAP solutions across SAP S/4HANA, SAP Business One, and SAP Cloud Migration Services for Vodacom’s enterprise and mid-market clients. The role’s primary purpose is to ensure that clients can modernise, migrate, and optimise their SAP landscapes through well-architected, secure, and scalable cloud-enabled solutions.

This position focuses on cloud migration architecture and transformation enablement, providing expert guidance in moving SAP workloads from on-premise or legacy environments to public, private, or hybrid cloud infrastructures — including Vodacom Cloud, AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. The architect will assess existing client environments, define target-state architectures, and develop migration roadmaps aligned with SAP best practices, RISE with SAP frameworks, and Vodacom’s cloud-first strategy.

The role requires deep hands-on expertise in:

  • SAP S/4HANA (on-premise, Private Cloud, and Public Cloud editions) for enterprise ERP transformation.
  • SAP Business One for agile ERP implementations in the SME and mid-market space.
  • SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and Integration Suite for extensions, integrations, and data orchestration during and post-migration.
  • Cloud Migration Services — including infrastructure sizing, landscape design, system conversions, data migration, and performance optimization across hybrid or full-cloud environments.

The SAP Solution Architect works closely with Vodacom’s client engagement, pre-sales, and delivery teams to design comprehensive SAP-to-Cloud migration architectures. This includes evaluating infrastructure options, defining integration blueprints between SAP and Vodacom’s cloud ecosystem, and ensuring compliance with data security, governance, and performance standards.

A key responsibility of the role is to bridge business and technical requirements, translating client objectives into deployable SAP architectures that minimise risk, accelerate deployment, and maximise ROI. The architect will also provide design oversight and advisory support during project execution to ensure that implemented solutions remain aligned with the approved architecture.

Ultimately, the purpose of this role is to enable Vodacom’s clients to modernise their SAP environments through intelligent, cloud-ready architectures — ensuring that every migration delivers resilience, scalability, and business agility within the broader digital transformation journey.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Solution Architecture & Design: Design and document end-to-end architectures for SAP S/4HANA, SAP Business One, and Cloud Migration projects, ensuring alignment with client needs, SAP best practices, and Vodacom’s cloud standards.
  • Cloud Migration Planning: Assess existing SAP environments and develop cloud migration strategies, including system conversion, data migration, and hybrid deployment models across Vodacom Cloud, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Technical Advisory & Pre-Sales: Support client engagements with solution scoping, design workshops, and technical input during proposals, ensuring solutions are feasible, scalable, and value-driven.
  • Integration & Data Management: Define integration and data migration architectures using SAP BTP and Integration Suite to ensure seamless interoperability and data consistency across systems.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Essential B / BSc degree
  • 5+ years SAP experience
  • 5+ years in SAP Sales
  • Excellent English language skills (verbal and written)
  • SAP Sales Certification – Optional

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:

  • Extensive experience in designing and delivering SAP S/4HANA, SAP Business One, and Cloud Migration solutions for enterprise and mid-market clients.
  • Proven ability to engage in solution consulting and value proposition development, aligning SAP architectures with measurable business outcomes and ROI.
  • Strong exposure to management consulting environments, with a focus on business transformation, process optimisation, and digital enablement.
  • Skilled in solution selling — supporting pre-sales teams with business case modelling, architecture presentations, and strategic bid responses.
  • Deep technical and functional understanding of SAP ecosystems, including BTP, Integration Suite, Fiori, and Analytics, with a focus on cross-domain integration.
  • Experience conducting discovery workshops, requirement assessments, and client advisory sessions to shape architecture strategy and roadmap definition.
  • Ability to articulate the business value of SAP investments, translating complex technology designs into clear commercial and operational benefits.
  • Knowledge of RISE with SAP, SAP Activate methodology, and cloud migration frameworks for private, public, and hybrid landscapes.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with a structured, outcome-driven consulting approach.
  • Demonstrated success in multi-stakeholder client delivery environments, maintaining quality, governance, and alignment with business priorities.
  • Experience in Management Consulting
