Corporate IT Platforms is a core component of the new Vodafone Digital and IT function. Our Operating Model is transforming as per our Tech2025 strategy and aligned to the vision of products and platforms.
We provide critical Global solutions and IT services to the entire Vodafone Plc business. With a core focus on the delivery of the Corporate Solutions including the Global ERP solution (EVO), and a wide portfolio of over 150 business applications supporting key business units of Finance, HR, Supply Chain, Procurement, Shared Service centres (_VOIS) and Group BI. The IT Platforms team are consistently leading a number of transformation initiatives including the transition to SAP Rise, migration to SaaS products and digital accelerators such as process mining and analytics that support the Vodafone data strategy.
A key cornerstone capability to support our Vodafone strategy is to execute Vodafone Mergers and Acquisitions projects. Our IT platforms M&A team helps Vodafone to integrate acquired companies and it helps divested entities to leave the Vodafone EVO platform.
What you’ll do
Role purpose:
Accountable for leading Vodafone M&A projects from a Technology (EVO SAP) perspective. This role supports projects in the portfolio of mayor M&A projects. These projects can have various technical scenarios depending on the nature of the M&A deal:
- System carve Out using SAP SLO services or other SLO service providers
- Balance sheet Spin Off of Vodafone business units to form new legal entities
- Data extraction for divested entities
- Joint Ventures
- Mergers of different dimensions: this can be mergers of mayor operating companies or smaller operational mergers to optimize the Vodafone portfolio of legal entities.
The EVO SAP M&A Product Portfolio Manager is accountable for the end to end demand, design, build and deploy of the required system changes to execute M&A activities. This role is a senior product manager managing the full M&A lifecycle and critical senior business relationships and leadership of projects.
Supporting the EVO M&A Product Portfolio Lead in delivering EVO related M&A projects. Starting with the M&A deal negotiations, this regards all matters of the EVO ERP platform and the definition of the EVO TSA (Transition Service Agreement). Setting and delivering the strategy to execute the M&A deal in order to integrate new organisations into our EVO IT platforms, spin off business units into separate legal entities or to support the exit from EVO of divested entities. Managing the complete EVO platform across Finance and Supply Chain. Building a highly skilled product team capable to handle the various M&A scenarios.
The EVO technology suite compromises of a large SAP estate, Google GCP, SaaS solutions and on-premise applications. Main products/platforms in scope:
- SAP S4 Hana Finance and Supply Chain
- SAP Success Factors
- Ariba
- Concur
- Field Glass
- SAP Business Intelligence
- MDG
- And further smaller and mid-size applications for Finance, Supply Chain and HR.
Expectations:
We are looking for a trusted and motivated M&A Product Portfolio Manager who can effectively deliver M&A projects, consult the business and is passionate for innovation.
The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge of financial reporting and financial processes. Additionally, the candidate should have comprehensive expertise in SAP Finance, HR, and SCM solutions, along with a strong understanding of Finance, HR, and SCM business processes and their integration points. Familiarity with cloud solutions and emerging technologies such as Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning is also essential.
The role will need to blend functional expertise, business process knowledge and strong stakeholder management to achieve an effective outcome that meets the needs of our business. Driving M&A projects with business alignment so that we ensure delivery across matrix teams and collaborate with vendors to execute our priorities.
The candidate will serve as the key technology point of contact to ensure effective support, advice and expertise on the deal preparation and execution of mergers , spin offs and divestures.
The candidate will also ensure compliancy with security, architecture, privacy/GDPR, SOX and audit controls
Who you are
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
- Accountable E2E for all EVO (SAP) related aspects in M&A projects. Ensuring the integration of companies and exits of divested entities from EVO are achieved within the agreed time and budget.
- Accountable for adopting the team to changing M&A requirements.
- Accountable for ensuring the M&A team can support newly implemented technologies, methodologies, automation and service improvements in order to achieve a smooth integration or a smooth exit.
- Accountable for Business Case inputs related to M&A projects initiated by the business including the costing of effort, landscape and delivery capabilities in line with Global architecture standards.
- Accountable for ensuring all M&A project activities meet IT policy guidelines in terms of SoX, IT controls, IT resilience and vulnerability management.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
- Proven Capability as SAP ERP product manager in large scale, complex M&A projects for multi-functional, multi-national TelCo organizations.
- In-depth knowledge of SAP ERP systems, business processes, and software development lifecycles in the areas of Finance, SCM, and SuccessFactors, with a particular emphasis on SAP S/4HANA Finance.
- Management skills, in particular: project management, networking, influence, communications and relationship management with both external and internal stakeholders and vendors.
- Leadership skills: aligning multiple stakeholders with different interests, delegation, empowerment and asking for input before making decisions
- Experience in managing off-shore shared services centre resources, conducting regular service reviews with the focus on continuous improvements
- Proven ability to build and expand high performing teams
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- Good university degree in business management or accounting.
- Detailed knowledge of financial reporting and finance process
- SAP Certified with detailed and extensive knowledge of SAP Finance, SCM and HR functionality, as well as SAP S4HANA knowledge and experience
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in delivering ERP Projects in international environment.
