The role purpose

Vodafone is implementing a new controlling model for the shared service organization and group functions. We are seeking an IT Product Manager specializing in SAP Finance & SAP Cost Accounting (to support the project team in the implementation and definition of this new controlling model.The project team is dedicated to implementing system and process changes for the new controlling model. This new SAP controlling model is planned for profitability reporting, cost allocations, and more. It will be an extension and modification of the existing EVO SAP S/4 FIN and SCM template, updating the Vodafone Core Business Process model.

The EVO S/4 Digital Core is Vodafone's digital platform for Finance and SCM, running on S/4 HANA. The finance scope encompasses multiple SAP S/4 modules and SAP cloud solutions, including S/4 Finance and Controlling, MDG, Collections, Closing Cockpit, and Concur.

The IT product manager supports the business in tailoring the new EVO Controlling model requirements, from design to go-live. Additionally, the product manager ensures that the system integrator delivers according to agreed requirements and that the implementation follows the Vodafone template. During data migration, the role owner consults the business and the migration team. The IT product manager serves as the point of contact for all matters related to the SAP functionality supporting the new controlling model. They are also part of the wider Finance IT platforms team. Close alignment with other product managers allows the role owner to gather additional input and support when needed. Furthermore, this alignment keeps the role owner informed about ongoing initiatives that further enhance the EVO digital core.

Locations: Madrid or Málaga

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Accountable for quality and delivery of the EVO finance solution, including data migration. Supports the business in tailoring requirements for the new controlling model, from design to go-live.

  2. Consult the business and guide the SI in defining solutions.

  3. Design Phase:

    • Ensure SI understands requirements.

    • Review functional specs and ensure compliance with Solution Manager principles.

  4. Build & Test Phase:

    • Guide stakeholders in UAT script creation and test approach.

  5. Go-live Phase:

    • Support stakeholders before/during go-live, manage post-go-live issues, and ensure smooth handover to BAU teams.

  • Acts as the go-to person for SAP functionality supporting the new model.

Collaborates closely with the Finance IT platforms team and other Product Managers to ensure alignment and awareness of broader initiatives.

What you bring

  • Deep expertise in SAP S/4 Finance and Controlling (Fi-Co).

  • At least 5 years of experience as SAP consultant in FI and SAP PS (project system).
  • Good understanding of SAP FI modules (E.g. GL, AR, AP, AA).
  • Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels and strong organizational and prioritization skills in a global environment.
  • Strong skills in SAP Solution Manager, MS Office, and SharePoint.
  • High level of english as a main working language, written and speaking ability.

Nice to have:

  • SAP CO and sub-modules (CO-OPA, CO-OM)
  • familiarity with MDG for finance master data.
  • Spanish.
  • cost accounting implementation.
