About this Role
We are seeking a Roaming Engineer to join our Group Technology team in Pune. This role is pivotal in delivering 24x7 first-line support for Vodafone’s International Roaming Platform, encompassing SS7, LTE, VoLTE, 5G, CAMEL signalling, and centralised VAS such as Steering of Roaming, Virtual Home Environment, and Welcome Roaming SMS. The individual will be responsible for alarm monitoring, incident and fault management, triage, and coordination with resolver teams to ensure seamless service delivery across Vodafone’s local and partner markets.
What you will do
- Monitor and troubleshoot international roaming services to ensure optimal performance.
- Manage proactive and reactive incidents within agreed SLAs to uphold customer experience.
- Analyse network quality KPIs and customer complaints to identify root causes and solutions.
- Support automation initiatives by evaluating current processes and recommending improvements.
- Apply in-depth technical knowledge across 2G/3G/4G/VoLTE core network parameters and optimisation.
Who you are
- An engineering graduate with 2–4 years of experience in roaming technologies.
- Proficient in SS7, SMS/SMPP, LTE, and core platforms such as STP, DRA/DEA.
- Strong understanding of roaming platform interworking with traditional core networks.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communicator with strong verbal and written English proficiency.
- Open-minded and solution-oriented with a clear approach to product and service development.
