About this Role

We are seeking a Software Release Specialist to plan, coordinate and continuously improve software release activities across application operations. The role focuses on ensuring user-facing services and production systems run smoothly by aligning release schedules with business needs, technology requirements, quality standards, compliance expectations and operational stability. The role is based in Cairo and sits within Application Operation.

What you’ll do

  • Plan and coordinate software releases, ensuring alignment with business objectives and IT requirements.
  • Schedule release activities and timelines, working with cross-functional teams to support timely delivery.
  • Identify and mitigate release-related risks, including data privacy, compliance and security considerations.
  • Oversee release execution, including deployment, configuration changes and testing procedures.
  • Coordinate testing activities, including user acceptance testing and performance testing, to maintain release quality.
  • Maintain clear documentation for release processes, configurations and deployment procedures.
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders, ensuring clear and timely updates on release progress.
  • Monitor production systems after releases and support timely resolution of issues or service disruptions.
  • Evaluate and optimise release management processes through feedback and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure releases comply with regulatory requirements and internal software release policies.

Who you are

  • You have experience in release management or a related role, ideally within a software development or IT environment.
  • You are organised and able to plan, prioritise and coordinate multiple release activities effectively.
  • You communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • You apply analytical thinking to identify issues, assess impact and support practical resolution during release activities.
  • You work collaboratively with development, quality assurance, operations and business stakeholders.
  • You have familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban, and understand iterative development and release planning.
  • You have a basic understanding of software development concepts, IT infrastructure, servers, networks and cloud services.
  • You understand testing methodologies and quality assurance practices that support reliable software releases.
  • You bring knowledge of cloud technologies and DevOps tools, with an interest in using automation to improve release processes.
