Role Purpose

Within Fixed and Mobile Access Operation, this role is managing Vodafone Italy RAN operation & maintenance tasks within the RAN 2nd level support team.

The 2nd level support engineer is supposed to trouble-shoot RAN issues, to apply procedures and changes meant to restore the service, to support remotely field engineer on complex troubleshooting, to manage 3rd level vendors support, to follow-up problem management with vendors, to execute planned works, including configuration changes or software upgrades on RAN nodes.

The role requires technical expertise on RAN technologies, and at the same time know-how on processes such as incident management, problem management and change management, as well as knowledge of all security policies concerning user access management, patching and hardening related to RAN nodes

  • Trouble-shooting issues in RAN technologies
  • Service restoration in case of issues
  • Phone support to field engineer
  • Manage third parties support sevices
  • Executing planned works
  • Maintenance windows activities
  • On call service

Who you are

  • Strong mobile network architecture knowledge
  • Technical skills on Single RAN Node, BSC Air Scale, MantaRay.
  • Good time management and prioritisation
  • Knowledge on incident management, problem management and change management processes
  • Aptitude for analysing problems, discovering innovative solutions and hunger for technical knowledge
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build trust and rapport
  • Excellent English language.
