About this Role

We are seeking a Software Test Automation Engineer with hands-on experience across manual and automated software testing. You will collaborate with developers, product owners, business analysts and other stakeholders to embed quality throughout the delivery lifecycle and proactively manage quality risks.

What you’ll do

  • Analyse business requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria to identify test scenarios, dependencies and quality risks.
  • Design, document and maintain test plans, test scenarios, test cases and test data for functional and integration testing.
  • Perform manual testing, including functional, integration, system, regression, smoke, sanity and exploratory testing.
  • Design, develop, execute and maintain automated test scripts for suitable functional and regression scenarios.
  • Identify appropriate automation candidates and improve automation coverage while avoiding unnecessary or low-value automation.
  • Perform API and integration testing, validating requests, responses, error handling and end-to-end workflows.
  • Execute automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines and investigate test failures.
  • Manage defect identification, logging, prioritisation, retesting and closure, providing clear evidence and reproducible steps.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis of test failures, distinguishing product defects from test-data, environment and automation issues.
  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, business analysts and other stakeholders to establish clear acceptance criteria and embed quality throughout delivery.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives.
  • Maintain requirements-to-test traceability and appropriate coverage of critical business journeys.
  • Track and communicate test execution status, defect trends, regression results and automation coverage.

Who you are

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline, or have equivalent practical experience.
  • You have 5yrs- 6yrs hands-on experience in manual and automation testing across the software development lifecycle.
  • You understand functional, integration, regression, system and exploratory testing.
  • You have practical experience developing and maintaining reusable automated test scripts.
  • You have experience with API testing and validating system integrations.
  • You understand SDLC, STLC, the defect lifecycle and test-design techniques.
  • You have experience using defect-tracking and test-management tools.
  • You understand Agile/Scrum methodologies and CI/CD practices.
  • You can apply analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to investigate test failures and quality issues.
  • You communicate effectively and collaborate across development, product, business and technology teams.
  • You have experience with defect identification, reporting, retesting and root-cause analysis.

What's in it for you

  • Work across manual testing, test automation, API testing and CI/CD-integrated quality engineering.
  • Contribute to quality throughout the software delivery lifecycle rather than focusing solely on test execution.
  • Collaborate across development, product, business analysis and other stakeholder groups.
  • Influence test automation coverage, reusable testing components and continuous improvement.
  • Build experience in risk-based quality practices, including defect prevention, root-cause analysis and critical business-journey validation.

  • Advanced root-cause analysis and troubleshooting across product, data, environment and automation issues.
  • Requirements-to-test traceability and critical business-journey coverage.
  • Quality reporting using indicators such as defect trends, regression results, test status and automation coverage.
