Role Purpose/Business Unit:

Serving as Terminals Lead Finance Business Partner and Commercial advisory on critical decisions having a meaningful financial impact or influencing short or long term KPI achievement. Primary customer being the ME of terminals and EHODs reporting to the ME. This role strives to deliver robust reporting, analysis and financial control for the financial impact of all commercial contracts with OEMs and other suppliers/ partners engaged in the terminals space, providing essential Finance expertise in the appraisal of new projects and the measurement of cost performance in project delivery. The Finance Business Partner will also drive and support the implementation of process improvements and reporting enhancements to deliver management information to the CBU Operations team, which evolves with business needs and consistently exceeds expectations.

Your responsibilities will include:

Weekly/ Monthly Report

  • Weekly reporting of:
    • Monitoring and reporting on 4G penetration and Facebook Market share
    • Assessing factors impacting terminals profit and forecasting expected month end close
    • Reviewing stock volumes with the team, as well as expected demand, to finalise the Cash Flow forecasts
    • Intakes Report relating to stock management
  • Monthly reporting of:
    • Terminals Performance overall
    • CTD accruals and claims as well as the circumstances affecting it
    • GTD rebate accruals
    • Device performance analysis by GSM technology
    • Device Subsidy Efficiency
    • Preparation of terminals Profit reconciliation to Other Prepaid reported numbers
    • Breakdown and analysis of Other Prepaid movements MoM and YoY (Terminals & ARC)
    • Annual Reporting
    • Budgeting Process on:
      • Terminals Profit
      • Other Prepaid components (ARC & Logistics)
      • Device sales by GSM Technology
      • Base by GSM Technology

Business Case Development: Support the business to make the best product decisions to support GSM Technology strategy by providing financial guidance to the CBU team through a comprehensive financial evaluation of business proposals for new product launches, pricing changes or targeted campaigns. This comprises of Business case development and use of post implementation review results to inform future decisions

Finance Business Partner Decision Support: Perform detailed analysis on financial or commercial considerations of new business and report back on findings and recommendations where appropriate

Management Reporting: Provide insightful management information.

Business Intelligence: Understanding the BI Tools available and being able to obtain relevant information from the various source systems and using such to optimise reporting and analytics.

Project management: Responsible to independently project manage the timeous delivery and implementation of ad-hoc CBU Terminals projects on a tactical and operational level to ensure customer satisfaction and revenue assurance to support the sales objectives.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Three-year degree/ diploma or equivalent in financial management/ accounting/ business management
  • Post-graduate qualification, business administration or equivalent
  • Data analytics/ Quantitative sciences qualification – advantageous
  • CA with completed articles – advantageous
  • At least 8 years relevant industry experience, preferably gained in a fast-moving multinational environment (experience of supporting a large Customer Operations function would be an advantage)
  • Financial accounting, reporting/ analysis, business support, financial planning and cost modelling, business case modelling and post invest review expertise are all essential for the role (8+ years).
  • Experience of cost efficiency programs is essential (5+ years).
  • Experience of working with a range of business managers with differing or competing requirements and consistently exceeding their expectations (5+ years)
  • Excellent presentation skills, particularly communicating to a non-Finance individuals (5+ years).
