What you’ll do

The Charging Service implements all the Tariff Plan, Promotions and Regulatory services (such as spending limits, etc) as per Commercial demand and it is therefore made up of a mission critical application, continuously evolved for supporting the stream of Commercial needs for facing the day-by-day competition.
From Technology standpoint, a journey towards 5G enablement is in progress moving the legacy service to a complete new, cloud-based application able to support the monetization of the incoming 5G network and services.

Role purpose:
• Deliver harmonized convergent rating and charging solutions cross markets and cross vendors in line with the architectural and strategic guidelines
• Coordinate cross European programs, both for the design phase and for the delivery phase ensuring compliance with deliverables, costs and quality
• Research and develop new products and services leveraging the leading technologies of convergent rating and charging, in line with Vodafone Digitalization strategy
• Design, Drive and Deliver the Convergent Charging Service (CCS) on Cloud Transformation program in the Market(s), leading CCS to a Cloud, 5G ready system.
• Design and Engineer the solution based on Cloud technologies, such as Containers, Open-Source components (Graphana, Kibana), CI/CD (Jenkins, JMeter).
• Design and Engineer the software for complying with state-of-the-art Cyber Security guidelines and requirements
• Design and Develop backend applications using technologies like JAVA, Python, etc.
Designing PoC as well as designing and developing integrations based on opensource components and APIs using CI/CD process (e.g., developing interfaces or protocol for automatic testing tools, developing automatic test scripts, etc)
• Owns solution HLD and LLD including IP design. Chooses technologies and standards used for the underlying capabilities. Determines dimensioning and configuration data per node. Ensures security requirements are imbedded in the design.
• Design and integrate the new 5G Core with CCS for developing innovative monetization streams.
• Drive as Technical Project Manager the delivery projects ensuring a proper coordination of all involved domains (e.g., Infrastructure, Core Network, Operating Support Systems, Provisioning)
• Analyse, together with the business demand areas, the needs, requirements and expectations for the definition and implementation of the different functionalities of the CCS projects and commercial products

Key accountabilities and decision ownership

• Design, Drive and Deliver the Convergent Charging Service (CCS) cross markets and cross Vendors
• Decide and influence the best software architecture for legacy / 5G charging applications.
• Design and Implement Capacity Planning for CCS
• Lead assigned projects coordinating the involved Technology Providers (aka Vendors) and the relevant VF teams cross markets
• Vendors Selection & Management

Who you are

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

• Deep knowledge on IT and network protocols, including 5G SA architecture
• Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) deployment, Kubernetes, Red Hat
• Charging and Rating Services and Digital Services experience
• DevOps process and tools (Harbor, Helm, Jenkins, GitLab, JMeter) and Programming skills and experience
• Strong experience in managing complex and inter-functional projects

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

• MSc/BSc in Computer Science or similar (mandatory)
• Fluent in English (mandatory)
• Analytical ability, creativity and problem-solving (mandatory)
• Knowledge in charging applications
• Experience in SOAP, Diameter, Restful API appreciated
