Role Purpose/Business Unit:

This role sits at the heart of shaping how Group Vodacom Business sales performs across markets, bringing energy, rigour and momentum to the way the organisation executes. It turns Group sales strategy into practical action by translating frameworks into impactful processes, tools and reporting that drive consistency, visibility and accountability across OpCos. As a key enabler of sales transformation, the role strengthens performance management, sharpens pipeline oversight and embeds governance that supports faster, better decision-making. Working closely with markets, it helps establish high-performing, standardised ways of working while ensuring the flexibility needed to respond to local realities and unlock stronger commercial outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Group sales operating model and standards: Define, refine and drive adoption of Group sales blueprints, governance standards, channel models and execution playbooks across OpCos, ensuring consistency while allowing for market-specific adaptations.
  • Analytical performance diagnostics and insight: Lead data-led reviews of sales performance, pipeline quality, forecast accuracy, productivity and commercial trends; frame root causes, size opportunities and translate findings into prioritised executive actions.
  • Sales transformation programme delivery: Mobilise and manage complex, cross-functional transformation initiatives across markets, including milestones, dependencies, risks, benefits, adoption plans and disciplined follow-through on agreed interventions.
  • Senior stakeholder alignment and decision support: Engage ExCo-level and market leadership stakeholders with clear narratives, options analysis, decision papers and performance forums that create alignment, accountability and rapid decision-making.
  • Market enablement and continuous improvement: Partner with OpCos to embed new ways of working, remove adoption barriers, build capability, codify lessons learned and continuously improve tools, dashboards, playbooks and operating rhythms.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Matric – Essential.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields – Essential.
  • An MBA or other master’s level post-graduate studies – Advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years experience in telecommunications, ICT and enterprise/B2B sales environments, with a strong track record of delivering profitable growth and sales performance at scale.
  • Background in Management Consulting or management roles across multiple teams, with proven experience in leading complex programmes, conducting deep analysis, delivering large scale cross-functional projects or go to market transformation, influencing senior stakeholders, and executing through others.

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:

  • Structured problem solving and commercial judgement: Able to break down ambiguous business issues, apply hypothesis-led analysis, interpret complex datasets and produce practical, commercially grounded recommendations.
  • Executive stakeholder management and influence: Confident managing senior stakeholders across Group and markets, facilitating alignment, constructively challenging assumptions and influencing outcomes without direct authority.
  • Transformation and programme leadership: Proven ability to lead complex go-to-market, sales effectiveness or operating model transformation programmes across functions and geographies, with strong delivery discipline.
  • Data storytelling, governance and performance management: Strong capability in KPI design, dashboard interpretation, pipeline/forecast governance and executive-level storytelling that converts insight into action.
  • Change enablement and execution through others: Skilled at embedding new processes, standards and behaviours through market enablement, coaching, action tracking, communication and pragmatic continuous improvement.
