About this Role

As a DC Network Engineer within the Network Service Design team at VOIS, you will play a pivotal role in designing high-performance, secure, and scalable data centre network solutions. You will be responsible for the end-to-end design of network services, ensuring alignment with Vodafone’s strategic goals and security standards. This role involves close collaboration with subject matter experts, architects, project managers, and infrastructure services to deliver standardised, future-ready network solutions.

What you’ll do

  • Develop high-level designs (HLD) for network service solutions.
  • Design and implement high-performance, optimised connectivity solutions for services transitioning from legacy networks to SD-WAN, ACI, NSX, and private cloud environments.
  • Ensure compliance with Vodafone’s security zoning and routing standards.
  • Forecast future performance, availability, and capacity requirements based on business plans and service portfolios.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support service restoration and ensure seamless connectivity.
  • Manage the design of data centre network projects and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
  • Optimise the utilisation of design resources and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Communicate solution strategies and product offerings clearly while designing innovative solutions.

What skills you need

  • Proven experience in data centre builds, consolidation, and migration to public cloud environments.
  • Hands-on expertise in:
    • Software Defined Networking (SDN): SD-WAN, Cisco ACI, VMware NSX.
    • Automation tools: Python, Terraform, Ansible.
    • Cisco Nexus data centre devices.
    • Networking protocols and technologies: FabricPath, OSPF, BGP, BFD, Segment Routing, Ethernet, VXLAN.
    • Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP.
  • Strong understanding of network service design principles and security standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate technical strategies effectively.

  • Exposure to cutting-edge technologies in SDN and cloud networking.
