Role purpose

The purpose of this role is to lead the commercial management function and ensure profitability and competitiveness of Vodacom DRC’s commercial offers and products in terms of identifying and achieving opportunities to generate value.
The Manager Commercial Management will act as the gatekeeper for commercial business cases, ensuring rigorous validation of all product launches, revamps, and sales campaigns with . Post-launch, the role is accountable for tracking actual performance vs. targets and identifying optimization opportunities to drive continuous revenue growth.
He/She must be commercially innovative in dealing with products & services in DRC context and will be required to define/develop business models that maximize value and minimize risk. He will work closely with both Product Managers and Segment Managers who will deliver products to market.

Key accountabilities:

1. Pricing Strategy & Execution

• Design and implement pricing strategies across the consumer business for all services: Voice, Data, SMS, ect..
• Create and manage pricing models, analyzing product structures, and forecasting the impact of pricing changes on revenue.
• Conduct pricing analysis of existing products including elasticity, revenue impact, and market benchmarking.
• Collaborate with CVM, Segments, Product, Finance, and Sales to develop offers that balance competitiveness and profitability.

2. Business Case Validation & Commercial Governance


• Assist in creating promotional campaigns, and conducting pricing optimization and cost-benefit analysis
• Design, review and validate all business cases related to new product launches, product revamps, and commercial campaigns by collaborating will all key stakeholders from other CBU divisions.
• Design and maintain a tracker report to ensure all launched initiatives are aligned with strategic objectives and meet required financial thresholds (ROI, payback period, margin)
• Work closely with Sales & Distribution to evaluate promotional initiatives and ensure ROI justification before deployment.

3. Performance Monitoring & Post-Launch Reviews

• Track post-launch performance of offers and campaigns against approved business case targets.
• Track network utilization / sites performance to pinpoint areas where pricing/commercial changes could improve profitability and drive initiatives thereof.
• Identify deviations, investigate root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain a dashboard/reporting mechanism to monitor bundles performance and derive insights to drive revenue growth

4. Revenue Optimization & Product Lifecycle Management

• Monitor existing product performance and identify pricing or structural optimizations to unlock additional revenue or improve uptake.
• Support CVM with monetization strategies based on customer behavior and usage trends.
• Participate in cross-functional forums to ensure commercial agility and proactive response to market dynamics.

Experience required:

• Significant and proven experience (5 years at least) in pricing, commercial planning, business case modeling, or financial analysis, preferably in telecom
• Solid understanding of telecom products and customer segments.
• Relevant experience in telecommunications industry
• Strong experience in financial modeling, data analysis, and business case development.
• Advanced Excel and proficiency in business intelligence tools.
• Ability to multi-task and be proactive & independent in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Education:


• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business, or related discipline (Master’s degree is a plus).

Competencies, knowledge and Qualification:

• Knowledge of statistical analysis and data mining tools
• Financial and commercial acumen
• Deep knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint
• Advanced knowledge of database extraction and data manipulation using SQL (Knowledge of PL SQL will be an advantage) : preferred.
• Strong quantitative skills and the ability to correlate both qualitative and quantitative data to produce actionable insights
• Experience with marketing, sales, customer demographic analytics
• Able to proactively work independently while managing/prioritizing multiple tasks
Strong interpersonal skills in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Ability to handle high pressure deadlines
• Must speak French and English
