What you’ll do

Role purpose:

The Finance Business Manager acts as a strategic partner to the EHOD M-Pesa Finance, ensuring effective financial planning, performance management and alignment between financial outcomes and business strategy. This role provides integrated financial insight, enabling informed decision-making across business units, and ensures disciplined cost control, robust forecasting and financial governance. The Finance Business Manager also coordinates the preparation of strategic and financial reports to Vodafone Group, Board and Regulators, ensuring accuracy, consistency and business relevance.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead the coordination of annual budgeting, forecasting and target-setting processes across all business units.
  • Consolidate financial performance results and present analytical insights on revenue, cost drivers, margin evolution and cash flow.
  • Partner with EHODS of Departments (Commercial, Risk, Technology, Operations) to support business decisions through financial analysis and scenario planning.
  • Review and challenge business cases for new products, pricing and capital investments, ensuring financial viability and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Drive financial discipline and accountability across departments by implementing cost control frameworks and performance dashboards.
  • Support the EHOD M-Pesa Finance in the preparation of ExCo and Board submissions.
  • Ensure governance, establish effective and efficient Finance processes, compliance with internal controls, policies and Vodafone Group financial standards.
  • Effective management and monitoring of Financial Risks and Finance Processes’ risks.

What we are looking in you:

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration, or similar.
  • Professional certification (CA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum 6–8 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Business Finance or Strategy in the financial services.
  • Strong understanding of financial performance management and business partnering within a regulated financial institution.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • High attention to detail and strong narrative communication skills for executive reporting.
  • Ability to influence and challenge stakeholders at all organisational levels.
  • Experience in coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with financial systems (e.g. advanced Excel).
  • Advanced modelling, Excel and financial reporting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Portuguese.
