Junior Engineer 2nd Line

Job Description

Your day to day:

Provides specialized 2nd Line technical services for the live IT systems of telecommunications operators (Vodafone OpCo or JVs). Offers support for the development, implementation, modification, and testing of software and hardware solutions for IT systems, as well as for telecom applications existing in the operators' networks, in order to meet project quality and response time requirements.

  • Performs activities that combine analytical skills with appropriate knowledge of software and hardware technology, aimed at developing, testing, and modifying IT systems that include mobile and fixed telecom software applications.
  • Provides support for the development and design of customized software solutions and applications within a defined framework and in accordance with telecom operator requirements.
  • Adapts software packages using machine-level programming languages for equipment, to stabilize clients’ telecom networks.
  • Configures, integrates, and optimizes network software parameters in line with defined quality criteria, using programming languages and methods specific to telecom applications.
  • Performs urgent remediation by reconfiguring software or hardware elements in telecom networks using telecom-specific programming methods.
  • Investigates and resolves complex technical issues received from 1st Line sub-departments, COPS, and SAC, using telecom-specific programming and debugging methods, and provides final remediation solutions.

With these skills you are a great candidate:

  • English language – written and spoken
  • Operating systems, databases, and IT applications specific to mobile and fixed telecommunications
  • Basic technical knowledge in 2G/3G/4G/5G/Networking
  • Knowledge of Microwave, IP, and SDH technologies
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

  • Completed higher education, preferably in a technical field (e.g., Electronics and Telecommunications, Automation and Computers, Computer Science, etc.)
