About this Role
We are seeking an IoT Data Expert who will develop, enhance and support complex IT and network systems powering connectivity and automation across the Vodafone Global IoT platform. The role focuses on ensuring high system availability, optimising performance, delivering 2nd line support for enterprise customers, and developing software, scripts and automation that improve operational efficiency and customer experience. This role suits individuals with strong telecom, networking and software expertise, combined with analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
What you will do
- Develop, test and implement scripts and software solutions used by Vodafone IoT enterprise customers, ensuring they meet functional requirements and are deployment-ready.
- Ensure the availability and proper functioning of software, network and tooling systems; monitor and support critical applications to minimise downtime.
- Adapt and optimise software solutions to improve performance and enhance customer experience.
- Review, analyse and implement technical and functional specifications when modifying hardware and software solutions.
- Perform impact analyses and design solutions that resolve incidents, address complex technical issues and elevate the customer experience.
- Deliver high‑level technical support for hardware and software systems, including 2nd line support and participation in on‑call rotations.
- Contribute to the creation of documentation and procedures for supported platforms.
- Identify automation opportunities and build the required scripts to streamline operations.
- Work in accordance with operational agreements, achieving KPIs such as response time and error rate.
- Support technical audits and resolve issues related to IoT applications and infrastructure.
- Participate in project decision‑making, ensuring realistic and measurable delivery timelines.
Who you are
- You bring 7–8 years of experience in telecom networks, with strong expertise in Packet Switch technologies (GGSN, PGW, SGSN, MME, DNS, BIG‑IP).
- You have advanced knowledge across GSM, UMTS, LTE and NB‑IoT.
- You are experienced with Affirmed, Cisco, Juniper and F5 technologies.
- You are proficient in key networking protocols including GTP, RADIUS, Diameter, IP, BGP, MP‑BGP, MPLS, L3‑VPN and IPSEC.
- You have practical programming skills (Python, Perl, Bash) and experience with virtualisation systems such as VMware.
- You are skilled in packet‑analysis tools (Wireshark, Ethereal, tcpdump).
- You have strong Linux/UNIX knowledge and ITIL foundations.
- You have experience in multinational environments and a high level of English proficiency (B2–C1).
- You hold CCNP Routing, Switching, T‑Shoot or Service Provider certifications, and have experience with monitoring systems such as Grafana and Cacti.
- You maintain composure in demanding situations and excel at resolving complex incidents.
