Role Purpose

  • The Enterprise Architect is responsible for shaping the local IT strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with both local business objectives and the broader Vodafone IT strategy.
  • This is a strategic role that bridges business objectives and technology direction, ensuring our systems, platforms, and architecture are scalable, secure, and aligned to future business needs.

Essence of Role – Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and maintain the Vodafone Ireland IT strategy, roadmap and target architecture in alignment with Vodafone Group directives and local strategic objectives.
  • Lead strategic architecture development initiatives working collaboratively across the organisation, identifying future capabilities and technology enablers.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across the organisation to ensure architectural direction supports business outcomes.
  • Define and maintain enterprise-wide architecture principles, standards, and governance frameworks to ensure agility, scalability and innovation.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop solution architects in best practice architecture. Foster knowledge sharing and learning across the architecture community.
  • Clearly document and communicate architecture building blocks to guide solution architects in defining solutions.
  • Maintain oversight to ensure solution architecture designs are aligned to our overall architectural strategy and governance principles.
  • Conduct capability assessments and gap analyses to inform strategic investment decisions.
  • Provide thought leadership on emerging technologies and their potential impact on the IT strategy.

We Are Looking For You, If You Have:

Essential

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in analysis, design, architecture.
  • 5+ years of experience in an Enterprise Architect role in a complex IT environment.
  • Proven success in defining and leading architecture for BSS/OSS transformation programmes in an agile or hybrid delivery environment.
  • Excellent communicator and influencer with a range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels, with strong written and verbal presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in architecture governance, business capability modelling, IT strategy development, and roadmap planning.
  • In-depth knowledge of architecture frameworks, e.g. TOGAF, eTOM, ODA.
  • Strong knowledge of Public Cloud: Azure, AWS, Oracle.
  • Knowledge of modern architecture patterns such as Event Driven, Microservices and Serverless Architecture.
  • Experience leading and mentoring technical talent.

Desirable

  • Recent experience in telecoms sector.
  • Background in enterprise catalogue, ordering and digital.
  • Expertise in platforms such as Amdocs BSS, ServiceNow, Oracle, AWS, GCP
