We are looking for enthusiastic technologists who would like to contribute our companies Digital Transformation ambition within a dynamic team of Digital BSS Global Capability Unit under Modernisation Garage. Our new colleague is expected to support the vision of Digital BSS Product Development as well as it’s implementation across different Vodafone Markets. Digital BSS Solution Architect role will help the product development team to identify the innovation opportunities while supporting the product roadmap. A key aspect of the role is to connect markets and common digital capabilities to achieve the Gamma outcomes of re-use and leveraging scale; building our own BSS stack tailored to Vodafone and aligned with our Technology standards, yet different from our competitors, while embracing the Vodafone Spirit.

Role purpose:

Digital BSS GCU Solution Architect role is responsible for defining the architectural roadmap to create reusable Digital BSS platform for Vodafone Markets.

Digital BSS GCU Solution Architect role plays an active role both in the execution and architectural governance processes. While the role acts as team member in the Agile Squad, he/she also leads the solution runway by creating solution artifacts as delivery.
The role requires leading a team of technical people from multiple parties including software vendors (e.g. PIA), system integrators (e.g. VOIS) and Vodafone.
The role needs to foster agile working principles. The Solution Architect supports the team to define the enabler backlog items and prioritize them considering the defined milestones.
The Solution Architect works with the team collaboratively to create and maintain an architecture repository where all architectural artifacts are documented.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

  • Deeply understand business functional needs, speaking with product manager and main stakeholders
  • Design e2e functional flow by using sequence diagrams or other type of diagrams
  • Define HLD and e2e flows for Digital BSS GCU Product Portfolio
  • Suggest best practices to ensure stability and e2e performances suited to technical needs
  • Support business analysts in specification writing and corner cases identification
  • Perform functional and technical test of solutions deployed by dev team
  • Lead the introduction of innovative technologies
  • Provide technical evaluation of vendor product adoption
  • Communicating with vendor and system integrator to align the GCU roadmap with the vendor roadmap.
  • Communicating with Stakeholders for roadmap alignment, progress review and strategy alignment.

Competencies, knowledge & experience:

  • A proven track of telecom experience for 10+years.
  • Past BSS Transformation Project Experience.
  • Knowledge of BSS Domain capabilities and architecture.(CRM, Order Management, Product Catalog)
  • Previous consultancy experience is preferred.
  • Ability communicate with project stakeholders.
  • Agile Architecture experience
  • Previous experience of project delivery on AWS or Azure.
  • Hands on knowledge with Kubernetes, Docker, microservice implementation using Java Spring Boot or Node JS.
  • Hands on experience with RDBMS & NoSQL Databases
  • Knowledge of known open spurce technologies(Redis, Keycloak, Camunda, Kafka et.)
  • Extensive knowledge around TMF Open API Standards. Previous experience of API development using TMF Open API Standards using Swagger
  • Knowledge of Security Architecture for API/Application and Cloud.
  • Knowledge of Application Montoring Tools on Cloud.
