About this Role

We are seeking a DBA Specialist to join our Software & Product Infrastructure team. This role is responsible for ensuring the functionality, availability, security, and performance of database platforms while supporting critical business and technology services. The successful candidate will provide multi-level operational support, design and implement database solutions, develop automation and optimisation initiatives, and build robust data integration pipelines that connect diverse data sources.Working within an international and collaborative environment, you will contribute to service excellence, technology transformation programmes, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring delivery against agreed service levels and operational standards.

What you’ll do

  • Provide Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 support for database platforms, incidents, problems, and service requests.
  • Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT data integration pipelines across multiple data sources.
  • Build and maintain centralised data lakehouse and data-broker solutions that support multiple business consumers.
  • Develop scripts and automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and extend platform functionality.
  • Conduct technical investigations and root-cause analysis for performance-related incidents and complex technical issues.
  • Define technical requirements and design, configure, and implement database solutions.
  • Optimise database architectures and implement upgrades to improve performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Ensure database integrity, security, availability, and compliance for IT and telecommunications applications.
  • Support project delivery through technical expertise, implementation guidance, and quality assurance activities.
  • Contribute to transformation and technology refresh programmes focused on enhancing service quality and reducing downtime.
  • Perform proactive maintenance activities using monitoring tools, alerts, and automated notifications.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, operating procedures, and knowledge-sharing materials.
  • Facilitate onboarding and knowledge-transfer sessions for team members.
  • Promote technical collaboration by mentoring colleagues and supporting skills development across the team.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives, process improvements, investigations, analyses, and cross-functional projects.

Who you are

  • Proven experience in database support and development environments (3+ years).
  • Experience working with data integration, ETL/ELT pipelines, data modelling, and data quality frameworks.
  • Experience building and maintaining data lakehouse or data-broker architectures.
  • Advanced knowledge of database administration in production environments.
  • Strong expertise across multiple database technologies including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL.
  • Advanced SQL performance tuning and optimisation skills.
  • Programming experience with T-SQL, PL/SQL, KSH/Unix Shell scripting, and Python.
  • Understanding of ITIL principles and IT Service Management concepts, including ISO20000.
  • Working knowledge of SOX controls and general information security principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to issue resolution.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed and remote teams.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence.
  • Strong documentation and knowledge-sharing capabilities.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
