About this Role

We are seeking a Data Governance Engineer to join our Digital Network Solutions and Insights team. This role is pivotal in supporting the Governance Lead and acting as a key contact for data cataloguing, metadata management, data governance, and data quality. The individual will be responsible for modelling, implementing, and configuring Vodafone’s Data Catalogue (Collibra), ensuring compliance with global and local policies. The role involves collaboration with Privacy and Security teams, Data Stewards, and Data Owners across Group and Local Markets, contributing to metadata integration, standardisation, and automation.

What you’ll do

  • Maintain and evolve the Data Cataloguing solution (Collibra) for Networks’ Data and Data Products.
  • Ensure compliance with Data Governance Policies by embedding governance and design principles.
  • Support the implementation of best practices in data cataloguing, governance, quality, and modelling.
  • Establish automated processes for metadata and data integration.
  • Promote risk mitigation practices to protect Vodafone data and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Foster a culture of data governance and quality across engineering disciplines.

Who you are

  • Engineering or Computer Science graduate, or equivalent hands-on experience in data manipulation.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in data governance or data management.
  • Proficient in data cataloguing tools (Collibra preferred; Google Data Catalogue is a plus).
  • Knowledge of governance models, metadata management, and telecommunications networks.
  • Experience with cloud data management techniques, ideally on GCP.
  • Previous exposure to data architecture is advantageous.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively while exercising independent judgement.
