Job Description

Role Purpose:

The Data Centre Services Manager is responsible for all datacentre customer and supplier coordination with Vodafone teams. This extends across all functional areas required to maintain great customer experience as well as the efficient coordination of datacentre related internal activities e.g. Finance, Supply Chain, Invoice and Payments, Account Management, Corporate Security, Strategy, Datacentre Regulatory and Sustainability compliance etc.
This person will have significant experience operating with multi-disciplinary teams and extensive experience managing supplier contracts, supplier negotiation, understanding technical activities across mechanical & electrical, datacentre design, cooling, and operations.
This person will be tasked with ensuring that all customer-related processes are fit for purpose and that all datacentre related internal, partner and customer communications are of a high standard appropriate to the specific audience. This includes responsibility for getting audience specific communications out to all the relevant parties.
They will be capable of managing customer expectations and will have responsibility for providing them with information and issue resolution as it pertains to Datacentre related services.
They will be capable of presenting to the most senior levels of the organisation as a subject matter expert and developer of strategy for our VBIE datacentre footprint.

Essence of Role – Key Accountabilities:

Customers, supplier, and third-party Service Management: Manage and coordinate all multi-party communications to ensure clarity across all DC related activities, including but not limited to group operational teams, third party contractors, partners, security, engineering, local Vodafone teams. Understand the contract landscape & manage supplier contracts in life.

Business, customer, and supplier Datacentre Point of Contact: Provide a central point of contact for areas of the business, key customer stakeholders and third-party providers.Manage customer expectations at all times whilst also managing all relevant vendors & stakeholders, both within Vodafone (local and Group) and partners/3rd parties. Ensure that solutions/upgrades/installations are coordinated and communicated effectively to all relevant parties.


Datacentre Third Party Contract, Cost, and Partner management: Ensure that all third parties and suppliers adhere to their contractual obligations. Setup of regular datacentre review meeting across all datacentre service providers to ensure clear lines of communication across all datacentre activities and responsibilities including (but not limited to) SLA reporting, compliance and certification, project reporting, cost control, incident management, routine and unplanned maintenance schedules etc.


Datacentre Subject Matter Expert: Provide Datacentre expertise to internal teams including but not limited to Sales, Solution Design, Engineering, Technology, Support, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations & IT etc.

Commercial Management: Map out and understand the vendors, the costs and the contracts that make up the estate.
Ensure that all supplier requests for quotes and POs are valid from a technical, contractual and market value perspective. Gain approval from finance teams and raise POs as appropriate. Manage Datacentre related monthly PO’s and goods receipting.


Leadership and teamwork: Help coordinate customer-facing projects and programmes whilst managing cross-functional teams from across the business including but not limited to Sales, Solution Design, Engineering, Technology, Support, Finance & IT etc.


Datacentre Strategy & Bid Support: Provide key inputs into Vodafone’s multi-datacentre strategy.
Present Mid and Long-term Data centre Strategy to senior business management.
Work closely with the account team and the customer to understand their stated and underlying business needs to ensure that the Vodafone bid meets these requirements, and the value proposition is fully understood.

We Are Looking For You, If You Have:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Relevant certifications such as Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP), Certified Data Centre Management Professional (CDCMP), or Data Center Design Consultant (DCDC).
Experience in datacenter operations or administration, often several years.
Strong leadership and project management skills to oversee and manage datacenter staff and projects.
Knowledge of industry best practices and regulations related to datacenter management, such as ISO, PCI, HIPAA, and GDPR.
Continuous learning through workshops, seminars, and vendor-specific training
