What you’ll do

Role Purpose: as a Cloud Infrastructure Sr. Engineer, you'll support Vodafone’s cloud strategy by delivering Telco Cloud virtualized infrastructure in Vodafone cluster markets to enable core network onboarding. You'll be responsible for end-to-end design and deployment of virtualization networks focused on VMware/RedHat NFV & SDN solutions, ensuring capacity, security, resiliency, and automation.
Key technologies include IaaS, CaaS, and PaaS (vCloud, vCenter, hypervisors, storage, networking - both physical and virtual), RedHat, OpenShift, Kubernetes, remote access, cloud security, and backup solutions. You'll collaborate with the VNF/CNF Onboarding team for automated integrations and support network function infrastructure in on-premises cloud environments.


More specifically you will:
• Be responsible for the delivery lifecycle management of designed solutions within Cluster IT, GR, AL
• Coordinate suppliers, engage with peers and other stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of functionality and quality in projects
• Design and be responsible of on time & on budget NVI Delivery according to the project’s timeline
• Develop the process and automation of cloud infrastructure delivery
• Define, address, track and report on standard and guideline adherence
• Translate business language into technical requirements

Who you are

Who you are:

• An academic degree and at least 5 years of professional experience in cloud and virtualization
• Expert in data centre infrastructure, cloud computing and virtualization architectures (IT and Telco) delivery
• Solid understanding of virtualization (VMWare/ Openshift Cloud Platform) and containerization (Kubernetes)
• Solid understanding of routing and switching protocols (ie. BGP / ISIS / OSPF)
• Experience with kubernetes networking (CNIs, Service Mesh, Network Policies, Ingress/Egress)
• Experience with Network Load Balancers and Firewalls
• Scripting expertise is preferred (Power CLI, Powershell, Python, …)
• data centre infrastructure, cloud computing and virtualization architectures (Telco)
• Customer oriented and systematic way of working
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work across multi-functional and cultural boundaries to deliver results and change
• Strong individual applied thinking.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
