About this Role

We are seeking a technically skilled Cloud Data Engineer with strong expertise in SQL and PL/SQL, particularly within GCP BigQuery environments. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy building scalable cloud-native applications, collaborating with data teams, and ensuring high performance and security standards across cloud infrastructure.

What you’ll do

  • Write and debug complex SQL and PL/SQL queries within GCP BigQuery.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure using GCP tools such as Google Cloud Functions, App Engine, and Cloud Run.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to process and manage large datasets using GCP services including BigQuery and Cloud Storage.
  • Apply best practices for performance optimisation, security, and scalability of cloud applications.
  • Develop unit tests and maintain documentation to ensure code quality and maintainability.
  • Troubleshoot and debug cloud-based applications in production environments.
  • Work on cloud-native development projects.
    • Apply understanding of both SQL and NoSQL database systems and data processing frameworks.

Who you are

  • Proficient in SQL and PL/SQL, with hands-on experience in GCP BigQuery.
  • Experienced in building cloud infrastructure using GCP services.
  • Skilled in debugging and resolving issues in cloud-based applications.
  • Familiar with data warehousing concepts and large-scale data processing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Comfortable working in collaborative, cross-functional teams.
