The Vodafone Internet of Things (IoT) suite of products and services is specifically designed to meet the demands of emerging business verticals. Our connection base has experienced a 20% year-over-year growth, reaching over 200 million connections by the end of the financial year 2025. Vodafone IoT maintains its leadership as a ten-time consecutive leader in the IoT Connectivity Gartner Magic Quadrant. To address the technological needs of IoT, Vodafone has developed an industry-leading IoT Connectivity Management Platform, targeting key strategic growth opportunities to meet the global requirements of IoT customers.

Vodafone has also carved out the IoT Connectivity business to secure additional external investment and maintain our leading position in the industry through the following.

  1. Continue accelerating and enhancing our Platform as a Service for Vodafone customers on footprint.
  2. Introduce service propositions in markets beyond Vodafone's current footprint (US and France).
  3. Address long tail lower volume segment through digital self-service platform globally.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and maintain the IoT observability and monitoring strategy across systems, services, and applications to ensure real-time visibility and operational resilience;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Development, Operations, and Security—to define observability requirements across CI/CD pipelines, microservices, and IoT platforms;
  • Foster a proactive monitoring culture by enabling teams with the right tools, practices, and automation to detect and prevent incidents before they impact users;
  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reporting frameworks that provide actionable insights into system health, availability, and performance trends;
  • Embed DevSecOps principles into observability workflows to enhance security without compromising delivery speed or quality;
  • Ensure all automation, CI/CD, and monitoring solutions align with Vodafone’s security and compliance standards;
  • Support the design and ongoing refinement of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) plans, ensuring IoT systems are resilient and recoverable in the event of disruptions;
  • Improve the Connectivity service delivered to Vodafone IoT customers;
  • Assure the proper dimensioning for the owned IoT platforms, guaranteeing capacity is used efficiently;
  • Guarantee owned IoT Connectivity platforms can cope with new products being delivered to IoT customers;
  • Manage stakeholders and vendors as required for the technical delivery and report project progress & activities.

Who you are

  • Educated to BSc degree level in Software Engineering or related discipline with Computer Science:
  • Proven Experience working with system monitoring toolchains including metrics instrumentation and monitoring in distributed systems – valued direct operational experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Loki and Tempo;
  • Strong grasp of DevOps principles and best practices, with the ability to work across development and operations functions;
  • Hands-on experience in Observability practices, strategy and tooling;
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI;
  • Proven ability to design, build, and maintain effective alerting and reporting dashboards;
  • Understanding of security principles, practices and standards and how they translate into real-world technical solutions;
  • Able to work well within a multinational, multicultural environment;
  • Experience working with Agile delivery methodologies, especially SAFe, desirable;
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese.
