About this Role:

We are seeking a Big Data Engineer to design, build, and manage big data ingestion and processing applications on Google Cloud. The ideal candidate will have experience with CI/CD toolkits such as Jenkins, Git, Jira, and Confluence, and a strong understanding of Google Cloud concepts and environments.

What you will do

  • Design, build, and manage big data ingestion and processing applications on Google Cloud using Big Query, Dataflow, Composer, Cloud Storage, and Dataproc.
  • Perform performance tuning and analysis of Spark, Apache Beam (Dataflow), or similar distributed computing tools and applications on Google Cloud.
  • Manage the development life-cycle for agile software development projects.
  • Convert a proof of concept into an industrialisation for Machine Learning Models (MLOps).
  • Provide solutions to complex problems.
  • Deliver customer-oriented solutions in a timely, collaborative manner.
  • Proactively think, plan, and understand dependencies.
  • Develop and implement robust solutions in test and production environments.

Who you are

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in preferably technical streams (Engineering).
  • Certified Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer (desired).
  • Excellent communication skills (business and technical).
  • Proficient in written and verbal English.
  • Ability to respond quickly to issues and risks.
  • Ability to highlight possible issues proactively.
  • Oriented towards process improvements.
  • Problem solver and team player.
  • Strong ability to understand complex system landscape configuration considering the E2E view.
  • Ability to take ownership and accountability of tasks in terms of delivery and quality.
