Join us
At Vodafone, we’re not just shaping the future of connectivity for our customers — we’re shaping the future for everyone who joins our team. When you work with us, you’re part of a global mission to connect people, solve complex challenges, and create a sustainable and more inclusive world.
If you want to grow your career whilst finding the right balance between work and life, Vodafone offers the opportunity to help you belong and make a real impact.
The Role
As an Assistant Store Manager, you play a key leadership role in delivering a world class customer experience through an engaged, high‑performing team. You support the Store Manager in the day‑to‑day running of the store, helping to create a positive, results‑driven environment where both customers and colleagues can thrive.
This is a natural step up within our retail structure, offering increased responsibility and the opportunity to further develop your leadership capability. You will lead from the front on the shop floor—coaching, motivating, and guiding your team to consistently deliver strong commercial performance alongside exceptional customer experiences.
You are a confident and supportive leader who takes pride in developing others, maintaining high operational standards, and driving results. In the absence of the Store Manager, you will take full accountability for store operations, ensuring the business continues to perform at its best.
What you’ll do
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Store Manager in the overall performance and day‑to‑day operation of the store
- Take full responsibility for store operations in the absence of the Store Manager
- Lead, coach, and develop team members to build capability, confidence, and performance
- Drive delivery of key business KPIs, including sales targets, customer experience, and service measures
- Create a high‑energy, customer‑focused culture that reflects Vodafone’s values and behaviours
- Ensure consistently high store standards, including visual merchandising, housekeeping, and compliance
- Monitor daily performance and provide clear direction and feedback to the team
- Resolve customer queries and complaints effectively, ensuring high‑quality outcomes and minimal escalation
- Support effective rota planning, resource management, and team deployment to meet business needs
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and team development
Who you are
Skills and Experience:
Essential
- Proven experience delivering results in a retail or customer‑focused environment
- Strong leadership potential or experience, with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop others
- A track record of achieving sales and performance targets
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire
- A strong customer first mindset and a passion for delivering exceptional service
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities and support store operations effectively
- Confidence using digital tools and systems
Desirable
- Previous experience in a supervisory or senior retail role
- Experience supporting performance management or structured coaching
- Understanding of store operations, including compliance, stock control, and cash management
- Exposure to customer experience metrics
- Relevant qualification in Business, Retail, or Management (or equivalent experience)
The Vodafone Spirit
You will be successful in this role by bringing Vodafone’s Spirit behaviours to life every day:
- Earn Customer Loyalty – Leading your team to consistently deliver exceptional and trusted customer experiences
