About this Role

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Application Packaging Engineer to manage the end-to-end packaging, testing, deployment, and lifecycle management of enterprise applications. This role is responsible for ensuring applications are delivered securely, consistently, and efficiently across Windows, macOS, Virtual Desktop, and Mobile platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with application owners, vendors, security teams, engineering teams, and deployment teams to support operational excellence, enhance user experience, and maintain compliance with organisational standards and service management processes.

What you’ll do

  • Own application delivery from intake and technical assessment through packaging, testing, user acceptance testing, release, deployment readiness, and operational handover.
  • Package and standardise applications for Microsoft Intune, Jamf Pro, MECM, Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365, App-V, and Citrix environments.
  • Develop and validate installation, uninstallation, upgrade, repair, detection, dependency, rollback, and user/system context deployment logic.
  • Perform compatibility, functionality, security, regression, and deployment testing while resolving complex packaging and installation issues.
  • Drive application upgrades, vulnerability remediation, version standardisation, end-of-support and end-of-life treatment, retirement, and application rationalisation activities.
  • Collaborate with application owners, vendors, security teams, engineering teams, testing teams, and deployment teams to mitigate risks and remove delivery obstacles.
  • Improve operational efficiency and delivery quality through automation, reusable frameworks, and continuous improvement initiatives using PowerShell and related technologies.

Who you are

  • Have 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in Application Packaging.Experienced in enterprise application packaging and deployment within complex enterprise environments.
  • Skilled in tools such as AdminStudio, Advanced Installer, Orca, PSAppDeployToolkit, IntuneWinAppUtil, Jamf Composer, and PowerShell.
  • Proficient in PowerShell and Bash scripting for automation, deployment logic, detection rules, and remediation activities.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Intune, MECM, Jamf Pro, MSI/MSIX, Windows Installer, Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365, and Citrix technologies.
  • Possess a strong understanding of registry management, services, file systems, permissions, dependencies, installation sequencing, and user/system contexts.
  • Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across packaging, installation, and deployment processes.
  • Familiar with IT service management, change management, release management, security controls, vulnerability management, and application lifecycle management.
