Job Description

We are recruiting for a Unified Comms Metaswitch Engineer to join our Corporate Network Operations Team. This is a key technical position in our team with primary responsibility for supporting our Metaswitch solutions. You will be responsible for customer support, fault investigation and end-to-end project delivery. The role is responsible for providing operational excellence through co-ordination with other teams and expert guardianship of the network.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintain and support the VMO2 corporate network products and services.
  • Provisioning and support of new and existing customers on various platforms
  • Working with Test and Integration for the timely delivery of new services and upgrades
  • Troubleshoot issues from a network layer using the tools available.
  • Provide 24x7 on-call support as part of a rota.
  • Pick up incident cases and requests and resolve within defined service level agreements.
  • Support end-to-end delivery of projects, ensuring operational requirements are met and sign off operational acceptance.

The must haves

  • Expert in Unified Comms with extensive knowledge of Metaswitch
  • Good understanding of TCP/IP, troubleshooting networks, DNS, VPN’s, Routing, VLAN’s, Firewalls and VoIP technology exposure
  • Highly competent with a detailed understanding of SIP signalling and decoding
  • Good knowledge of hardware and software-based SBC’s (Perimita and Audiocodes being advantageous)

The other stuff we are looking for

  • Experience of DSTNY Telepo
  • Experience with Microsoft Operator connect, Teams Direct Routing, Teams Phone Mobile, Cisco Webex and Webex Go deployment in fixed and mobile environment an advantage.
  • Competent with network tracing tools – Empirix, Intellisight
  • Knowledge of customer environments IP-PBX and legacy including the use of protocol converters where required
  • Experience with Analytics tools and IPSLA
  • Understanding of cloud
