Job Description

We have a new and exciting opportunity to join Virgin Media O2 as a Quantity Surveyor!

Within this role, you will play a pivotal part in the success of our Network Expansion team by means of undertaking the contract and cost administration required on all infill projects. You’ll also play a key role in providing cost management support on contracts across multiple Virgin Media O2 business units.

As our environment continues to evolve, you will support the growth of the team by means of creating and maintaining cost reports for each project/workstream with regularly updated written narrative providing precise explanations for forecast cost position vs. budget, outstanding variations, ‘Work-In-Progress’ (WIP) and premise number changes.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you can expect to take the lead in managing a number of regional projects on a daily basis, including regular visits to sites and/or partner offices. You’ll be tasked with ensuring all projects have gone through the Early Contractor Involvement process and assessing and validating payment applications, early warnings, compensation events, and final accounts. Due diligence is also key, ensuring audits on previously approved payments/variations/final accounts are carried out and site visits are conducted to validate the measures being taken by build engineers are accurate.

The must haves In order to be considered, you must have the following experience:

  • NEC4/JCT contract experience
  • Strong skills with Microsoft excel or similar data manipulation
  • Strong numeracy skills and accuracy in communicating data to peers and seniors within an organisation
  • Full UK diving licence required
  • Ideally degree qualified

The other stuff we are looking for We'd also love you to bring:

  • Experience of CEMAR system
  • Knowledge/experience of contractor payments
  • Knowledge/experience with Morpheus work streams/contracts
  • Project experience is advantageous
  • Proactive attitude in getting the job done
  • Ability to work as part of a team, but also under own initiative
