Job Description

Veterinary Surgeon – Full time in refurbished practice. Experienced team.

Are you a confident small animal vet ready to take your surgical or medical skills to the next level? Looking for a clinically driven, well-equipped practice where you can grow, thrive, and feel genuinely valued?

At Vets for Pets Andover, we believe exceptional veterinary care starts with a happy, supported team. That’s why we create an environment where everyone can breathe, develop, and enjoy a healthy work–life balance.

We celebrate wins together, lift each other up through challenges, and make sure each day feels purposeful and positive. Here, you’re encouraged to be yourself, pursue your interests, and advance your career with a team that truly has your back.

Our practice opened in 2013 and has spent over a decade building a loyal client base and an excellent reputation within the local community. Many of our team members have been with us for years — a testament to our supportive, forward-thinking culture.

We are proud to offer a recently refurbished, modern clinical environment, featuring a Class IV laser, ultrasound with colour Doppler, digital and dental X-ray, and endoscope—designed to support our team in delivering excellent care.

The Role

We are looking for a capable and confident Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys working independently and taking ownership of cases, but equally enjoys being part of a supportive team—sharing ideas and talking cases through together. Sole-charge experience is a bonus, but you will never be without support — you will be joining 4 experienced vets, a highly skilled nursing team, and a dedicated support team.

Full-time: up to 40 hours per week

Weekends: 1 in 4 Saturdays on sole charge basis#

Part-time: happily considered — the right person matters most

Our practice offers the caseload, equipment, and freedom you need to utilise your existing skills and keep progressing. We actively encourage professional development and will support the areas of practice you’re most passionate about, including CPD tailored to your interests.

About You

You’ll bring:

  • At least 2+ years of experience in UK small-animal practice; however, enthusiastic applicants with less experience are very welcome—we have a strong track record of supporting new grads.
  • Confidence in routine surgery and consultations
  • Strong communication skills
  • A real commitment to providing outstanding patient and client care

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary up to £65.000 per annum (dependent on experience)
  • No OOH or overnight inpatient checks
  • Generous CPD allowance, including funded certificates
  • Supportive, friendly team culture with regular social events
  • A strong focus on wellbeing
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Paid memberships (RCVS, BVA, VDS)
  • Exclusive company & high-street discounts

If you’re passionate about delivering outstanding pet healthcare and exceptional client service, we’d love to hear from you!
