Job Description

We’re opening a brand-new Cardiff Ty Glas practice, partnering with two experienced local clinicians, and they are looking for a full or part time vet to join their team.

This isn't just another veterinary role - it's your chance to be part of a practice from its very beginning, helping to shape the culture, clinical standards, and ways of working alongside an experienced and supportive leadership team.

If you're looking for a role where your ideas are valued, your development is prioritised, and you'll genuinely enjoy coming to work each day, we'd love to hear from you.

Why You'll Love Working Here

Our new practice is led by two experienced Practice Owners who are passionate about creating an environment where both colleagues and patients thrive.

One owner brings a strong nursing background, while the other has over 15 years' experience as a Veterinary Surgeon, including Lead Vet and Clinical Director roles. Having worked across both independent and corporate practices, they understand what makes a great workplace and are committed to building exactly that.

From your first day, you'll benefit from:

  • A genuinely supportive and approachable leadership team
  • Everyday mentoring and clinical support
  • Freedom to develop your own clinical interests
  • Opportunities to influence how the practice grows
  • A collaborative team culture where everyone's voice matters
  • High-quality, personalised patient care without compromise

The Role

We have the flexibility to shape working patterns around the needs of our team. Whether you're seeking full-time or part-time hours, we'll work with you to create a schedule that supports both your professional and personal commitments.

We're looking for a Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys first-opinion practice, values teamwork, and wants to be part of building something special.

Purpose-Built Facilities

Our new practice has been designed with excellent clinical standards in mind and will include:

  • Dedicated dental suite with dental radiography
  • Modern operating theatre
  • Digital X-ray
  • Ultrasound
  • In-house laboratory
  • Multi-parameter monitoring including ECG, pulse oximetry and capnography
  • ISFM-approved cat kennels

Everything has been carefully planned to help you deliver outstanding patient care while working efficiently and confidently.

A Fantastic Cardiff Location

Located in Llanishen, Cardiff (CF14 5ZB), the practice offers excellent transport links and convenience.

You'll benefit from:

  • Around 10–15 minutes by car from Cardiff city centre.
  • Approximately 13 minutes by train from the city centre.
  • Convenient access to the M4, making commuting from Bristol and South Wales quick and easy.
  • Free on-site parking
  • Shops, cafés and gyms right on your doorstep, including Marks & Spencer, Boots and Homesense.

Why Cardiff?

Cardiff offers the perfect balance of vibrant city living and outdoor adventure.

Spend your free time exploring Cardiff Castle, Cardiff Bay and its thriving food and cultural scene, or head to nearby Penarth, the Vale of Glamorgan, the Brecon Beacons or the stunning Gower coastline. Bristol is also less than an hour away, giving you even more to explore.

Whether you enjoy hiking, paddleboarding, live sport, restaurants or relaxing by the coast, Cardiff has something for everyone.

Highlights of What We Offer

We’re proud to offer more than just a competitive package - we provide an environment where you can grow, feel valued, and enjoy a fulfilling career.

  • Competitive salary of up to £65,000 FTE (DOE) - recognising your experience, expertise, and contribution.
  • Contributory pension scheme - supporting your future financial wellbeing.
  • Generous CPD allowance and ongoing development support - helping you continue to learn, develop, and achieve your professional goals.
  • Career progression opportunities - with the support and encouragement to build the career you want.
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment - where teamwork, shared knowledge, and wellbeing are genuinely valued.
  • A practice that prioritises work-life balance - creating the flexibility and support you need to enjoy a rewarding career alongside life outside work.

Beyond the practice, our team enjoys making the most of the outdoors and staying active, from hiking and wild swimming to running and yoga. We’re committed to creating a workplace where you can thrive professionally while having the time and space to enjoy the things that matter to you.

Ready to Help Build Something Special?

If you're looking for more than just your next job - if you want to help create a practice where people love to work and patients receive exceptional care - we'd love to hear from you.

Join us at our brand-new Cardiff Ty Glas practice and be part of the journey from day one.
